i think is way better to train def than making him divine in pm and tech, he will get there by gt (and if he don´t, you have time to make him divine, but that def is too low), so if i am you i will train him on def!

If you train def, you'll render his striker almost useless

Yep, the choice is between best offmid ever in sokker(possibly even 5x18) and just another 5x17 mid.
Also you can but dont need to train tech/pm to 17 now. In best case scenario you shouldnt waste training on skills past 17( I would have stopped at 16 everywhere) at such a young age so he gets maximum benefit from general trainings till he is 5x17 or at least 26y, then go for 18s.

if you use him central mid you must train def
if you will use support striker you must train striker

no you don´t, you can make him a 17x5 (in striker not in def) but leveling up his def a little bit, at least until formidable, anyways between def or striker is his choice, what i think is that is not worth to continue training him in pm or tech!

yes, defense with mid order train the same that with def order, striker with mid order train slower... about 50%

There is no such thing as training striker with mid order....... when you train striker the ATT will get the training, and MIDs will get more training then normal gt

i would love to train his striker if he were mine, and if you give him tech + pm rest of season, it should be dueable in new league/training system.... to get him to 5x18 there can still be done a bit of tech + pm..... but no more pace or pass.... my 2 cent

Training of striker

Strikers (ATT position) train most effectively, a bit slower the midfielders (MID) and to a little extent, defenders (DEF) and goalkeepers (GK).

So on the middle position get slower training of striker
