Whoever said they went back to the old training speed , doesn't know what he's talking about...
Same situation here, really talented players before but now it takes them forever for a pop....
Pace training is painful , I had 6 weeks to 16 playmaker 2 seasons ago and 12 weeks to 16 pace this season...

Still, he's a monster player

He might have made it with a different training plan - you could have used general trainings more instead of going for 17s while one skill is significantly lower.
But this generation of players were hurt the most by the training reform/league reform chaos. Lost 3 weeks per season for 3 seasons until increase in general training to compensate. Even more due to slower training for higher skill levels for a season or a bit more.

In the future I guess players will still reach 5x17s if the extra general training works as announced but existing top guys got hurt by all the chaos.

The training to higher skills got affected 100% doesn't matter what they say...I've been playing my 10 players 2 games a week,( so they should get 100% training) after the reform their talent went to the gutter, super talented players now need 13-14 weeks to 16-17

A fact... random to divine is an unrealistic thought with players over 25, unless they are very close to divine.
I've had a player in my team since he was 24. He never had a pop on defence in my team, yet I know he had +3 on defence when I bought him.
I've trained him on defence for 7 trainings when he was 27 / 28
He is 29 now, when I sold him this week and he didn't pop to superdivine.
I know superdivine is even harder than divine, but realistically not more than 2 trainings. But here you can see that top level skills for players above 25 are at least 13 weeks of training, and then still you need to be lucky enough that he doesn't drop in skill at least the same as he's getting GT on it.
My player had +10 + 40 GT on defender, had super talent and still didn't pop.

I can agree, i have a 27 year old with +11 on tech, still no pop to divine.
Not a single pop on any of his main skills tbh, he's a stronger, had been here for about 15 weeks

let´s see what happens with this guy, he is currently +9 def and 14gt... he never pop in my team, i will not train def anymore cause i quit... at least for now... let´s see if he pops by gt in this weeks
