I believe that there are general ideas that are basic, but then there are scenarios that modify certain contexts to take one measure or another.

You are in the third league in Croatia, probably what you have to invest in the level of players to compete for much more is very high. It is a very high investment.

In the particular case of Paraguay, the country is very small and that means that what you have to invest to compete is not as much compared to other countries and in this case the reward is high. I explain it in the following way

First division: Sponsors pay 100 000 $ to 150 000 $.

In the matches I can have incomes of 37 500 $ to 118 750 $ (there is still a significant gap due to the difference in teams)

Second division:
Sponsors pay 50 000 $ to 75 000 $.

In the stadium you can have 25 000 $ income (caue all teams are BOTS)

The difference in what the sponsors pay only pays for a very good youth coach and even more. And the difference in the stadiums pays you a very good head coach.

I think both coaches could be considered good to coach.

What I did was buy 10 cheap, low-age youngsters to look for talent and train them. To follow that same line that you say about INVESTING in training.

Taking into account that we are talking about a difference of approximately 112 500 $ to [money=]1400000[/money] in positive income that one will generate by being in the professional division, in this case, it is worth having a starting team that will not train in advanced that allows you to stay in the division and fight to have a strong increase in members and income that I was just talking about.

The real expense that is difficult to afford that you do not mention is the loss of value in the starting team over time. The higher you want to be, the more money you will lose (salaries also rise)

Time in Sokker made very old players with high skills be very cheap in market, the lost of the "value" in the market of those players aren't relevant yet his sallary is a weekly important expense

Recently relegated - 2nd Croatian league is probably same level like Paraguay 1st. If you want to train players and win games, you need much better players as I had - If I bought old players I could play, noone can guarantee I can win enough games to stay in league anyway (bad tactical discipline) and my expenses would rise another 150 000 $ p.w. + transfer fees! Sponsors and attendance (if rainy day) can't cover this deficit!

I decided to keep best talents (3.7 and better) for main team, and train them myself! How much time I would need to buy 3 000 000 $ player, or few of them? Fastest way is to train them myself!

Now I have second team (those 19y players are from my junior team, not worth over 50k) to play away matches only (on bad pitch), 98-99% Advanced training (friendly + home match on Divine pitch) eff is better as risking injury! For them all I pay 20 000 $ what I become (at least) from friendly game attendance: have good winning streak, good fans mood, and roof over 4000 places!

73 000 $ from sponsors and 140 000 $ are not enough to cover all expenses, but with minimal minus around 15 000 $ weekly I can survive with only one average player sold pro season! And If I sell my reserves I can reduce expenses, but one long injury can be more expensive as 200 000 $ over season!

And for example I kept those players in my squad:

What I normally keep are players with same training requirements, and sell those which I can't train further in pace (f.E.) if pace training will be over soon for most of my trainees! I can't say my plan (with weekly income deficit) is good, but I can live with it when I know can sell 3 players for 10 000 000 $ right away! IMHO, that is investition!

First of all - I'm not trying to get lucky! I buy certain skill sum what I estimate it can: or make money, or be a great player for some specific country!
To be honest, I made bad buys too (good skill sum, bad talent), or bought players I "pinned" with 1 to 1 000 $ bid, and I saw and bought better opportunity! (They just remained 1-1000€ players without training!)
Or I get robbed not setting a starting bid!
But I try to make less mistakes and calculate expenses whole time and try to plan training and sales few weeks in advance!

Old players are cheap as their highest skill sets their salary! They can be brilliant/very good/very good in skills and you are still paying for brilliant!

What I'm trying to say, someone with good training plan can get in your place in just 3 Saison! Your players should be 33+ and worth +/-0. You can get lucky with 5 of 10 trainees and sell them for over 3M in total, but then you need to buy trainees, few old players again to compete, and build stadium. Are you sure you will have enough money?
Try to make projection how it would be look like in a few weeks time, calculate, for example, 17-18y +3-4 skill pace and +1 pop in another skills trough general training over a season and imagine how much money you can get for this specific player now, in one season, and so on.
I'm not trying to say I know "better way", know only how I lost interest to play then, and started over not long ago - it was very difficult not to slide into bankruptcy few times! I had same desire to stay competitive, but I noticed: what if I reach promotion and then I don't have enough money to buy good trainees, it can be I stay uncompetitive long time, and someone take my place! ;)

And almost whole Sokker Community can agree on this one: noone get rich from attendance and season awards!
