Subpage under development, new version coming soon!

Subject: NEWS Sokker- big changes are coming!

2024-08-20 18:32:36
As I said before, step by step, it is not possible to do everything at once - for example, updating all the old pages to the new ones. Nothing can be done about it, it has to take time, page by page, in parallel with other changes to the mechanics. That's all I can say about the interface.

I agree that the contact is also chaotic, although there have already been some changes in this area and I hope for more.
As you noted, I have been appointed as a developer. I somewhat self-appointedly take charge of forum communications. In addition to this, I am also working on a tutorial for new users. I would like one of the messages within the tutorial to be a list of people to contact, especially tutors. However, I see the problem that some societies have either inactive tutors or suffer from a lack of tutors. Something I will want to do about this, but I also have no control over everything.

It is important to remember that admins are not the people to whom you should direct questions relating to the development of the game. Admins and moderators have the task of keeping order in the game, on the forum and following the rules.

And it's not like there was a lack of communication because nobody was interested in the game and what was going on here. There came a point when the amount of tasks and requests became so huge that Raul, who basically single-handedly linked the game with the team on the other side, was not able to control everything.
So the positive change is that the approach has changed a bit and a few people have been added to the process, just to keep everything under better control. It may not be so visible on the forum yet, but we have already dealt with some of the chaos that had built up over a long period of time.

We will be happy if you inform us of new things that are happening so that we don't have to find out by ourselves by mistake. Even open a topic in the forum or in the pressroom like its suppose to be . Except for the change on tax, I haven't seen any update on other things that changed

It is important that information about changes reaches all users, so the pressroom is the only appropriate place for announcements.

Nothing significant, apart from an increase in the number of conditional commands, has been introduced recently. We had hoped to provide information on conditional commands together with the information on coaches' pensions, which is in the pipeline, but we are still waiting for the details.

That! This is key information that is new to most users! I spoke about transparancy countless times. Communication...even if it's to say there's nothing to say but work on a couple points is in progress and communication about that will follow... these things are so important to users that it might be the difference for people to quit or stay within the game. Thank you for your contribution thusfar! It's people like you and Kryminator that might make the difference! You both have far more knowledge than the other devs, regarding the game and how managers experience it.

I'm still a normal user like any of you. I give my best to the club and NT and I still love it. I know your feelings and that is my strength as a 'D'.

There is idea about that, but waits for greg's and damian's aprovement.

It's alive?

Training needs to be divorced from the competetive aspect of the game

I think that a simple change and improves the tactic aspect and simplifies training is delete orders DEF, MID, FW, GK from game, those only needs be defines to trainings, but I understand that involve ME. D:

I'm curious about that and a bit concerned. The separation of training from matches would help making sokker more competitive, but it would take a lot of challenge and fun from the weekly struggling about the best training compromise like koka said. We saw this trouble-free training in ultimate manager and it was completely boring for me.

That... is an interesting idea, but simple? No, absolutely not. You'd have to rewrite the entire match engine from the ground up.

What I'm thinking of is turning league games into something like how arcade mode works, with all the injuries and other bits and pieces.
The issue comes with training. How do you do training without league games? There are options. You could just use friendly games for 100% of training (instead of 85%).

What I'm actually thinking though is to divorce training from all games. A points system for example. You get a 100 points to train with (or more or less depending on the level of your head coach) and you assign those points to the players you want trained.
So you could give 10 points to 10 players, or train 15 players and give them all slightly less. It's a less restrictive, more transparent training system. It also frees the game up to get rid of either friendly or arcade games, as they'd essentially become the same thing. Most importantly though, it stops this nonsense of players refusing to promote because it's not profitable.

Don't get me wrong, nothing is being done in this direction yet.

If nothing else, we should all appreciate your willingness to both help develop the game with your free time, and continue to communicate on their behalf.

thanks!

I agree with this. Friendly should be 100% training too.

Making it necessary for youth players to have to play in the league to reach optimal training means that competitiveness is lost and you have to choose between competing or training to a certain extent.

But beyond this, what Geston says is clear, you cannot do everything at once and reading the commitment that, for example, he has towards the game and the fact that he is working on them it's good news.
