128 teams, 32 groups with 4 teams. Match + rematch - 6 rounds. After that 2 teams are gone, top2 goes to cup phase - another 6 weeks to final.
128 in top league (like champions cup now)
5x 128 in second level
25x 128 in third level
rest of the non-bot teams in fourth level

But that's just an idea that goes under consideration right now, can be changed.
Also there is already a project of ranking, how to adjust teams to leagues.

How will one qualify for the cup?

Geston, please think that it would be much more successful at the Marketing level for the game and on top of that I think it would be more attractive for users because it would be related to the reality of the Copa Libertadores - Sudamericana / Champions League - UEFA cup being competed.

And having a PAGE of those CUPS with history, teams, finals links, something like that.

So it will be similar yo your idea but divided in two regions

This has sense with real football

it is difficult to compete with europe and other countries in America. Smaller countries.

Then you can have a single match champion vs champion INTERCONTINENTAL

America vs Rest of the world would make sense in baseball manager but not in a game where 90% of users are in Europe :) anyway, I doubt they would put in the extra work for continental championships.

But +1 for better cup page they're really awful.

After some discussions I think we will go to 1, 3, 9, 27, 81 "cups" per level, not 1, 5, 25, 125, to make it more flat with team strenght at one level.

How will one qualify for the cup?

Not sure if it will be used at all, but for now there is only mine suggestion how to do it.
Each country has own number of division levels, like Poland has 6, Italy 5, Germany 4, Norway 3, etc.
Each place at each league of the country would have something like "base points" just from league position, but scaled to the number of divisions in country.
So the best team in Poland would have 72 points, same like best one in Norway and any other country.
At the same time last team in last (6th) division would have 0 points, same like any other team at last place in Norways 3rd division, or Italy 5th division.
+ there would be another bonus points for top 3 teams at each league level and/or bonus points for country cup top3.

This way, winner of each countrys league will be guaraneted to play in top division of international cup.

At the same time, last teams in top league of any small country wouldn't compete we last teams from polish top league teams, but going with scale they would compete with teams from polish bottom 2nd to mid 3rd league. Etc.

but that's not a good or fair idea

many teams from IVth leagues would be able to play in 1st league of not only small but also semi-big countries

take for example England, with 150+ users, so one of bigger countries, their strongest teams (av rating), top 10:

Team number 2 would be around 25 in Poland.

Teams 64-68 ratings - that's the level of many teams at 4th level in Poland or even 5th level

Btw. I would suggest doing it in a LEAGUE not cup format

Cup will always have this problem above

League format with relegations and promotions will sort itself out in a couple of seasons

It would be also more meaningful, this would be ONE competition so you would have the real best time

Instead you will have winner of cup X, winner of cup Y etc.

Give me better idea.
I mean not "it could be like... many conditions". It must be clear to build algorithm, scalable, so it would change be itself when something change with league division in the world etc. Universal for whole world, transparent.

Cup system based on country leagues is better because:
- each season we can take to cup only user-teams, without bots, in league system there is a risk, that some1 will end the game and become a bot, clearing leagues from bots looks like... look and country leagues, you know how it looks
- each season you fight in league to get a better position to start in better international cup level
- and yes, you would have some number of trophy levels, same like it is with league system

Maybe the scale should be considered somehow other way, but I'm afraid country like Poland always will be a problem, because of number of active users.

I think it is not. Ranking is build during many seasons + can be manipulated in friendly games. While place in league last season should be deciding.
One universal algorithm = guaranteed place for country champions - like it is now in champions cup. Still there are many "weak" champions playing in that cup right now and it is not a problem?

This is just consideration. I came with it on forums to speak about it and maybe work something better out.

Who are the top ranked 100 clubs in the game and where are they from?
I did ask for world ranking to be incorporated into the game ages ago but obviously nothing happens quickly here.

Also - we have just alot of good/decent polish teams - that's a fact and we have to deal with it.

What would be better?
Sorting that teams and more levels, allowing playing better polish teams also at lower divisions of the cup, so they would probably win many times.
Or pushing all that good/decent teams at high divisions making that division just "polish" with not many teams from other countries?

I could make such ranking by my own without waiting for devs to provide me such data.
