But without coach he will be marked as tragic (even if his real skill is 7.0) and it will later slighly spoil linear regression approximations when calculating talent.

why do friendly matches count in ranking?

Yes. Friendly match shouldnt count for neither expectations or ranking. They dont real life either. But the reason here is that it is training match for young players

yes training ok but we are trying so hard to build something here in ranking and losing 70 points in a friendly match is totally crap...because even high ranked teams need to train some young people from time to time...
anyway...maybe a dev will think about it and change it...like they did with arcade games which was super correct to stop the nonsense

The one cycle I was a U21 coach, I found out the hard way about this because I would play 19/20 year olds in friendly season initially and get pasted by 21s
You should agree with the other coach to play U19 / U20 to avoid this situation
For ranking points, Matches should have different weight for type of match
