Unless the rules have been rewritten that's not correct. I remember very specifically reading that only the general appraisal of assistants matter.

followed by the sum of the overall level of the assistant coaches.

OK I think this bit is new. That suggests to me that 3 Average actually does equal 1 Magical (both totalling 15)

Please observe that I only stated that the assistants' function is clear. Not their effect.

It is well known that devs will never reveal exact percentages of influence of certain aspects of the game, like this case. I do agree with you, though, that we deserve more hints here to be able to make a more informed manager decision. We're left a little too much in the dark on this one.

When you compare cost vs influence, the assistants seem to be a huge waste of money as they cost more than the main coach and youth coach combined (assuming the same level). They really shouldn't use the same wage formula as Main and Youth.

I've kept my assistants' wages a little below the main coaches combined. But yeah, it's still a lot of money based on faith alone that they're worth the cost.

It is most profitable to find trainers at skill level 110-120. It is important that they have the lowest possible rating for goalkeeping, because it is most responsible for the amount of salary. In my team, such assistants earn salaries of EUR 30-35,000. Better assistants are simply not worth it

Well it's logical, why would a highest level coach decide to be assistant if he wasn't paid accordingly to his level?

The point is you don't need unearthly coaches for assistants. I once had magical/unearthlies, now I have 3x 14 and that's the highest level I would go for... 3x 12/13 will probably be enough for most. If there is a difference between 3x 14 and 3x 15/16 then it's barely noticeable. I get pops after to 2 very good/excellent, I get full 100% untrained pops after 12 general to good [7] striker etc.

I'd say that anything over 3x 12 is for people who invest A LOT into their trainees, a lot meaning more than 2m euro for one player. If someone trains players with lower value and trains them long term without making top profit regularly - there's no point in investing into assistants more than that.

His main appraisal is a measure of the sum, with decimals... I believe two magical one with skillsum 121 is better then one with 119... but in what skills it is, doesnt matter, only total.... thats the same as you thought, just added decimals

I think the curve is like with training... the Higher the trainer, the less more effektive

And yes, anything above Brilliant assistants is overkill

I had 11 gt all gt pop to 5 tech, with 3 x Brilliant Assistants

If you can use it for anything ... my first junior had talent 4,5 in old system with true evaluation... My junior coach was only level 9

You can't bring that kind of logic into this game otherwise the whole thing falls apart.
Why would an NT player who gets paid the same regardless of where he goes, want to play outside of a top league?
Why would any club pay their assistants the same as their main coach when they have significantly less influence?

Best to not start pulling the logic thread.

Wages should reflect importance. That's true everywhere in this game apart from the assistants.

Both are correct... sum of skills and all subskill will determine the level of the coach, his general appraisal, and the effectiveness as assistant. Wage will be determined by the heigth of the different skills and will be different. 2 magical skills will be cheaper than unearthly and brilliant. Unearthly GK will cost more than unearthly Tech.

Offcourse you don't need them... it's about a percentage in training/ skill difference in assistants. It can be important though. It can be the difference between a 2 weekpop and a 3weekpop. Can matter a lot in specific sales. But on the longterm it's probably not possible to keep gaining that money every season.... it's optimizing at a cost, probably sometimes a too expensive cost, but difficult to evaluate.

I've done a load of work recently on how general levels are calculated.

127-128 Unearthly
118- 126 Magical

I can't remember the rest without my spreadsheet.

As for wages, Keeper costs x3 any other skill.

Unearthly Keeper 10800
Unearthly Other 3600

For a maximum of £36000 wages (8x Unearthly)

There are anomalies but that's pretty close.

I think in theory you can have an 127 magical coach too if all unearthly skills are at 16.02 and not at 16.20. One low magical skill brings him below 16 then. Most of the unearthly trainer skills are 16.20 probably though.
