I sometimes play them so they get a little teamwork before league match.
Although, I don't know if teamwork itself even counts for match engine. Maybe it counts only as a part of tactical discipline.

well he obviously played to receive training...

my point was why use a top youth as a forward in a friendly game

that's like asking for an injury, especially as you have no idea what kind of defender he will be facing and the worse defender = the higher the chance for injury
