20 gts to excellent is 3 trainings basically, which is good but not that great.
How many weeks did it take to 17 pace?
well as I've said it was a 100% general pop [also 20gts is imo more like 2.5 advanced than 3]
what I mean by this is that the previous pop was also from general - so he has no "extra" from previous pop like in pops after advanced training. he needed only 13 general trainings to pop to very good striker - but he popped to solid after advanced training, it often makes a huge difference.
remember as well that striker is the 2nd slowest training, only after pace. slower than especially playmaker/passing.
in technique for 100% general pop [pop to solid also from general] to very good he needed only 16 general trainings, which is less than 2 advanced trainings.
as for pace, his pace talent was: 3 to formidable, 4 to incredible, 5 to magical, 6 to divine

That goalkeeper is very talented xineon....came out at 18 with magical!
Borkos, I understqnd what you mean, a full pop with GTs.
Still I think 20 gts is around 3 and not 2.5 trainings. So our different opinions come from there. Nevertheless, súper good talent :) what I don't like is that that player precisely, made me see that the YS is all a lie and a big shit. Come on, a player that showed a 4.5 talent now it's a top one haha

It always depends on how long a player is in YS... but yes, even after 20+ weeks the talent average from YS can be "fake", let alone when we talk about 16-17yo players that were in YS for around 6-10 weeks
It's a matter of huge and constant changes - one week the player goes +1 and the average can show 3.1, another week the player drops by -2 and boom, suddenly he "is" 3.6 etc.
I have this player:
> Youth Talent Calculator
Now it shows me 3.33 talent
Last week he was 3.22
If next Thursday he goes back down one level - he will be 3.75
So depending on which of the 3 weeks he would come out, I'd think he has a talent between 3.22 and 3.75 - so a huge difference
23 weeks in youth school and his talent is still a mystery
That's why I think that YS talent shows SOMETHING, but it's very far from actually defining the real level of talent...

In my opinion algorithm used in this tool is flawed, changes week to week can produce way too high talent changes.
Linear regression for this player shows 3.38 last week and 3.43 this week; if he goes back to 9 next week it will be 3.63, if he stays at 10 it will be 3.51, if he goes to 11 it will be 3.39. Much lower range.

The algorithm is one thing, but the sudden changes after weeks of being ys [with unearthly coach] should not be possible/so often
For example - I have a player who at week [22] went +3 and then week [23] he went -3
then week [28] he went +2, week [29] went -1, week [30] +2, week [31] -1
It is ridiculous, it shows that even after around 30 weeks the youth coach still doesn't really see the actual level...

You only started playing in youth league this season, so it may explain why this chart looks bad. It's never this bad for my youths that play regularly in games. I think it's logical - if the coach only sees youths in trainings then he can evaluate them badly, even if he is an unearthly coach.
Also, it may look bad, but it's almost always +-1 level from the "adjusted progress", so it's not that far off from the real level.

That's why I started playing in youth league... but I might back out because it seriously affects the pitch quality
I'm at 80%, playing YL today at Home, tomorrow I have a league game at Home - it will be wrecked...

It's only this bad if you have home matches on Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday... which usually happens once a season, and even then it's not that bad, the chance that a ~20% worse pitch quality will produce an additional injury is quite small.
Any chances for U21?
