A few minor cuts and perhaps the biggest fluke in MMA history.
BJ Penn: "If you tap to strikes, you're a little bitch."
BJ Penn: "I know when I walk in there to fight Georges, there’s just gonna be one thing that’s constantly going through my head. To the death. We’re gonna go to the death. I’m not gonna stop. I’m willing to die. I’m gonna go, serious Georges, I’m gonna go to the death, and I’m gonna try to kill you, and I’m not joking about this."

Knew you were going to post Stevenson and Sanchez, those were really gnarly, especially the finish on Stevenson.
OK, enough for tonight.
For the record, I really like GSP, both as a person and his skillset, but I will bash him and his defenders until he starts finishing fights again and fights Anderson.
He became corporate robot scared of another loss, he has cleaned WW division and it's time to fight Anderson. He has decent chances to win that fight with Sonnen-esque aproach, even if he losses no one would give him shit.
If Condit wins then he stays at WW for good and uses even safer gameplans, and that sucks.

like the fighter GSP tooo, and do not get the gsp here in sokker for thinkingthat overeem cannot defend against lesnar takedown.
Lesnar seems t be like Tank Abbot against Kimbo Slice...over thetop, too heavy for himself, and thus losing even to a not so good opponent.(Velasquez is quite good though..)
Overeem will have an easy win, even in pure strength he can outwrestle Lesnar right now. Also his defense is up to standards, we 've seen that recently...
I think it was XTRage who gave us a very good lesnar-overeem; 2:22 first round TKO.
But the heavyweight division needs some better fighting quickly...

When recently have we seen this? Overeem hasn't faced a real wrestler since ever really. He's faced a few Jiu Jitsu guys, but never real wrestlers.
Comparing Lesnar to Abbott is far of the mark in my opinion. Abbott was big strong fat guy with a lot of fight in him. I'd say Lesnar probably has less fight in him but he is by far (very far) the superior athlete. On top of that their fighting style is very different. Don't think I've ever seen Abbott go for a takedown.
Of course if Lesnar cannot get Overeem to the ground he's toast, but I think we'll see Overeem on his back. I am not sure how he'll do there because it's been quite a long time since he's been in that position.
The heavyweight division now, especially if you consider the potential with the other heavyweight in Strikeforce (is UFC owned as well), is actually far better than it has been over the last years.

sure that 's true , there is people ,young guys comming, still growing bit of weight aswell...
but the way Lesnar became champion of champions is bit what I meant....in a few fights, not even against top10 names, he claimed the title...
He is big, and he has a good background for groundwork...sure...
I remember that not so long ago I saw atleast two matche with more or less mma rules of Overeem, where ofcourse the opponents tried to get a takdown...and he would not let it happen, was very fast and defended well...then he just beat the others up...believe me, let overeem and lesnar hit yo and you will feel a lot of difference...I think Lesnar was too late learning to throw real punches...
however Overeem now knows a bit of how to defend when in wrong position. if other way around; no chance...
but hey, ayone can beat kimbo slice ....it is all in the game...

Great Strikeforce card tonight.
Can't wait to see Gracie vs. Lawal

Was a nice card, really glad Miletich was doing commentary instead of Gus Johnson.
I either really overestimated Bigfoot Silva or really underestimated Cormier. Cormier's striking looks crips. With his striking, if he's careful not to end up on bottom, I think he has very good chance against Barnett as well.
Don't think Lawal looked particularly good but at least he got another win. I'm guessing Gracie goes back to BJJ.

Bigfoot looked awkward, maybe he stopped 100% training after Turtlereem went out, who knows.
Cormier was surely underrated before tonight, fast strong hands and world-class wrestling can trouble anyone, Bigfoot was half-conscious through the whole round after that huge overhand connected.
Maybe it would go different on another night without that huge early punch, but it is what it is.
And I agree that Cormier is a bad matchup for Barnett.
Roger should keep on MMA, Mo headbutted him and then connected on the temple, he could win against many opponents and I hope he stays.

Did you see the pre-fight interview during the broadcast with Barnett as well? Barnett being his usual dramatic self, saying how he wants rip Kharitonov's flesh off and drink his blood. The girl interviewing I guess wasn't expecting it, so she just replies happily: ,,We look forward to seeing that"
Yeah, Barnett as Barnett, he has done pro-wrestling, that heel playing is nothing new from him.
If Bigfoot won there would be biggest pre-fight trash talk war since Lesnar-Mir 2.
That trip was amazing, he felt Sergei's punches and then done his thing, boring but very effective if opponent's name isn't Mirko.
Cormier might take this unless Barnett sneaks in heel-hook or something, I doubt he can get Cormier down, guy has a balance of a tank.

UFC 136 was last weekend. Can really recommend people to watch the broadcast.
