There is, but honestly, I haven't had the chance to compare how big that difference is. I had a coach who was 20 at pace and 15 at tackle. So, like you, I trained a guy until he got 16 or 17 in pace, and switched to tackle.

While I was training him on pace, he was popping a level like every 4 training sessions or so, when I switched him to tackle, it took him like 5 sessions or so. But it is my understanding that there is a talent for each SKILL (at least it is so with youth players, I don't know if that goes on once they are promoted), so I am not sure if the pop frequency was influenced by that too, or only by the trainer's skill level.

Yes, and it's linear. 20 equals 100% training, 15 equals 15/20 = 75% training.

so every 4th training gives a 'free' 5th training
clear enough

BTW: the talent in a skill is only valid for youthtraining. In the main team, all skills train equally fast depending on the skills of your trainer off course

all the Champions and cup winners, as well as the defender of the title are selected as far as I know

I know the level of the competition is dwindling with you missing, but I just couldn't afford the appearance money of 20 Mio UM$ you demanded.
