haha he thinks his muscles don't need rest lol how much do you deadlift? :)

Asking from me? Tbh I haven`t done serious deadlift for a long time. I am training different that regular bodybuilder, completely different. I remember that in November 2009 I was able to lift 185 kg. Don`t know how much it is in pounds. But I remember it was extremely heavy:) I play basketball and try to train like one. However now i do deadlift about once a month.

well Idk how much it is in pounds either but I deadlift about 400-415 pounds ;) are you just training for conditioning or for mass? before my surgery I was just training for mass but I'm considering going back to getting lean since i've lost all my muscle tone and just have a belly now hahah

Haha, so it´s the same amount I can lift or actually I was able to lift. Haven`t tried my max for a 10 months or so. Definitely it hasn`t been improved. I am training to get faster and jump higher, so fo conditioning. My weifht trainings are mixed with bit plyo aswell. It´s really helpful, when one of your hobbies is playing amateur basketball. I guess now I need to lose about 10 pounds of my weight and I should be flying:)

well for deadlift i never maxed out.. i felt if I did I would mess up my back haha i always did 3 sets of 3 reps. considering i'm a soccer player I'm guessing thats normal :D I still remember when I started to work out I would only deadlift a 45 plate on each side :D It took me only 5 months to get to that weight... I'm guessing they were newbie gains. how do you train to jump higher? working on calves? I'd like to know since i'm 1.92 meters tall but I can't jump high haha

Working on calves, that´s what everybody think - and that`s wrong. Calves have only a very little part. Your hamstrings are the most important (squats with heavy weights 85-90% /1RPM). Also you should have low body fat percentage - around 10%. Strong abs and back. Flexibilty helps you to jump higher, because flexible muscles are able to produce more power. Power = Force x Velocity. So basically max strength and velocity are important and one should work with these if he wants to jump higher. It´s a long story, I am sure Google helps you out.

And I am exactly as tall as you are.

:)

can you give me a skmail with your routine ? :) i'm really interested now..

Almost my every week is different. The number of sets and repetitions vary. So, just don`t bother:)Sorry.
2010-08-20 10:45:11
Why not workout every day? I mean if you dont always max out on your workout you can do it every day aswell, how can this be less effective than doing max workout like 3 times a week or so?

Depends on your purposes. Firstly, you don`t gain any muscle if you don`t give nearly 100%. For example your aim is to get bigger and you do 8-12 reps for each exercise. Then these last 2-3 reps for every exercise are the most important, these make you grow. You have to get maximum from at least 2 sets from 3. When your aim is to lift as much possible, improve your strength, then you have to ue maximal weights.
Secondly, you don`t develop during the training. You get better, when you rest (eat and sleep). Your muscles don`t recover that fast, that you could train every day. Of course if you a little bit every day, then no problem, but what will be the use of such training?
It´s another long story though.
