Great Idea, give the Olympia Games to the least worst of the 2 counties left who were interested.. for as far it is possible to call China the second worst option. Both should never have been an option from the beginning!
Human right, free speech, free press, equality, all of these things should be standard in countries to even be able to sign up as possible hosts for these kind of world events. Next one is the WC in Qatar... Yeeh.
Olympic Games should have been organized as Euro 2020 (euh, 2021), events in countries that already have the facilities. Speed skating in the Netherlands, downhill skiing in and Alpine country, cross-country skiing and ski jumping in some Scandinavian country or countries, bobsleding and other sports that need this bob track is also already existing, curling, ice dancing, etc etc in countries that could organise these sports. And many smaller Olympic villages, that could be used afterwards as hotels or standaard living. Thuis could have been possible. Also without the redicoules costs as host.
Traveling in Europe by train as much as possible is also possible, not that much polution.
But without the redicoules demands of the Olympic organisation, the reason why the last free country withdraw as Olympic candidate.
