Marlin has a long fin along its back, swordfish (like the fish in your picture) has a single fin like a shark. look here

I see diferent on those pictures. Marlin have fin along all back and swordfish short single fin.

We call swordfish- mečiar or mečuň and marlin-plachetnik
if you use google translator and you will translate swordfish and marlin you will see same slovak word, but it is not right.....

problem is that if i write to google swordfish i can to see all species marlin and swordfish on pictures.

Swordfish makes for absolutely great eating. :-) I enjoyed nothing more than buying fresh catch from fishermen in Italy when I was sailing there.

Yes. I did not eat nothing so good long time. I am working in agriculture and i have still lamb, young beef, but swordfish is top. I still remember on steak from wild red and silver salmon what i caught in Alaska. It was so great, but meat from swordfish is better. We cooked steak and suschi. It was so great. I would like to try tuna meat. I ate steak from tuna in restaurant in croatia, but i want to catch tuna.

meat from swordfish is too expensive, but really good.

I had to take my rod, when i was in Holland and no visited in Amsterdam only coffee shop and look red line, madame tussaud :D

:P Probably you also had a fun time without your rod .... ;) But yeh, large parts of the Netherlands is river delta so enough places to go fishing ;) But you need a Fishing Pass for a specific area to do so.

It is a pitty I didn't know in the past how big fish we have in Dutch streams, channels, rivers, and lakes, would have been a lot of fun showing this to an ex girlfriend as she was really afraid of big fish :P She would probably have freaked out knowing this and probably would never have swum again in these waters :D Throwing her in the water would have been even more fun as it already was ;P

We have Slovak fishing asociation and i need fishing licence too. I pay per year 120 e.

I once read somewhere that the biggest pikes in Europe are in Ireland! Something to do with the oxygen in the water

Dont know about Ireland but here in Denmark they get quite big. A 17,2 kg monster was landed a couple of days ago. took 20 min to land, bait was a woobler.

It is monster and no pike :)

I caught nice pike perch in saturday. 85 cm and 7,5 kg.

I used to fish whan I live in Florida,
Every day got to the ocean after work with my 4 years old dougther,
It was great , and I caught ome small fish's (yellow tail, cat fish and so) that we ate for dinner :)

after my doughter lost intention from only taking the shrimps head off and feed the birds,
I bought her a small rod, whice was my biggest mistake,
as few days later she cought a whale :))))

A bucket of ice to freeze my finger leg, and I was back on my feet :)

Looks like your 4 year old daughter is much better in fishing then you. The biggest mistake you can make right now is to make for her a sokker team. Looks like she will be also better in that then you ;)
