Didn"t you just mention the film you watched about Galileo?
I have never understood why christians hate science!
Most early day european scientists were priest and noblemen (christians like Galileo)!
And science is not a competing religion, it is just a test how nature works (that we can use to our benefit) and according to the bible nature is created by god.
In other words when you say no to science you are denying "gods work"!
Science is testing nature! If you have a tennis ball in your hand and let it go it drops to the ground. You can test this thousands of times and it works. tested this way it is a fact that something we call gravity exist.
Scientist do of course much more complicated test which one can¨t see but they are facts because we can use them. We can make atomic power plants and get energy out of them even though we can¨t see how it works, it just is science...
Clever scientists (aren"t they all clever?) can even figure out things we don" know how to test.
And some make asumptions that are later proven right or wrong.

Evolution is slow, you can"t see it.
But we are breeding dogs, horses, and cats aren"t we?
That is both science and "evolutioin". It is not survival of the fittest it is more survival by the breeder, but it works the same way.
Basically changing genes to others.
We have a lot of differrent animals now than we had 5000 years ago, or 5000000 years ago.
Maybe Darvin is the only evolutionist others are people believing it is true.
But i guess Einstein was an evolutionist and he made pretty cool discoveries, and did them just by thinking he couldn"t test them.

But they didn't believe in a god anymore with all the knowledhe they actually learned. And ofcourse later proven they where right because theologists have no knowledge of science as scientists do. Neither as bakers have mathematics degrees (or maybe a handfull) and hairdressers no astronomy degrees.
Only in England scientists where somewhat more free to do their work wirhout being procecuted for heresy.
At some moment 'the church' realized they actually did know nothng about what people like Einstein and other real geniuses where talking about. And even now, religious fools trying to redicule science of which they understand absolutely nothing, is just crazy.
Like the one in here. It is like an 8 year old child who just leared to do calculations is trying to bring down the world of science and earthly knowledge. No clue at all what he is doing, just making himself look redicoules.
And not only an 8 year old child, but also a hypocrite with a serious mental problem, that he keeps denying like most people do with a such mental problems.
