What did you think about the penalty ?
i didn't find it penalty , because goalkeeper was going for the ball not for Alvarez (and alvarez run into him, keeper holds his line).
But i understand as Argentina fan , you will think this is a deserved penalty.
Anyway deserved win for Argentina.

I don't see what Livakovic could have done differently, he was too late to get the ball and realized that but can't disappear.
Not too different to playing the ball next to opposition player in midfield and instead trying to run around, the attacker runs against it. This does not get given as a faul most of the time.
But credits to Argentina for a strong performance.
Looked like Croatia was somewhat off their game after the first goal and gave it away too easily after.

LOL Till the start of the match, I was with Croatia. However Argentina played very clever and I liked the way they played. :)
About the penalty, I never go on such discussions. I played as a referee in some tournaments in the past and I know how difficult it is for a referee to make quick decisions. So, if a referee says penalty, then penalty. Simple... ;P

So it's not a penalty when a player goes for the ball, misses the ball and crushes with an opponent who touched the ball firstly? Can't believe what some of you are writing here.. That is a crystal clear penalty by the rules.

These days anything can be penalty and any goal can be disallowed for unclear reason...
For me there was a penalty but Croatia unfortunately did it to themselves. Two times the did short corners and did same mistake to be off guard on counters...
And covering offside from Lovren was really bad sync in defense reminds me on my sokker defense :)

That is literally the opposite of what happened though. He stood still at the moment of impact.
When a keeper is chipped after a through ball, the attacker usually jumps over the keeper since collision is inevitable in such front-to-front duels.
If you think this is a penalty, then attackers should always run against the keeper lying in front of him to get a penalty in case they miss a chip?

Interesting match will be today. I feel France-Morocco match winner will win the WC.

@tsolias, yeah but referee's can make mistakes ,i'm not judging the referee because he indeed has to due it in a split second and it's difficult.
But i think in such cases for a penalty the Referee should always have the choice to look at the Video.
They have the footage and technology why not use it ?

Croatia was better in all aspects of the game, more shots on goal, more dribbles, passes, offsides m, everything...the referee and the luck were on Argentina side
