Subject: Sokker vs Hattrick

2006-12-27 18:20:53
Other than me of course ;).

Incidentally, (nearly) all those on HT who say Sokker is rubbish, fit into those categories.

It's a lot harder to fail on HT than it is on SK though in the beginning.

To get excited by a new youth system that is two seasons off is pretty naive. They haven't written it yet.

I'm pretty sure that they've written it and they're only testing it now. I don't think hattrick brings out such a huge feature without testing it. They can't risk it because if something goes wrong, to retrieve such a big database takes a long time. They don't want any pauses.

I played almost 3 years HT, never bankarupted or had any problems... I had players in NT, a good stadium, and had one of the best III div. Brazilian teams.

I quit HT because I found Sokker so better that I didn´t want to manage HT any more.

Getting bored of a game does not mean that that game is shit when compared to the new game.

It's just a matter of interest.

If later on a new kick ass game comes out and u've had enough of sokker, I'm pretty sure u'd act the same!

you could argue that, but i have an extremely unhealthy addiction to this game

Me too, unfortunadly.

Me too, fortunately:P

LOL, exactly as the change in defensive weights two seasons ago, the unpredictable free kick loss this season, the corrupt database in the big crash last season?

These are only the three examples that come to my mind immediately, but there are many others.

They haven't proved such big competent database mantainers, you know...

Least they're better than hockeyarena. Lol.

HA just released a "new" engine, had more bugs than the windows 3.0 beta.

Never played HA. I love hockey, but I really dunno anything about its tactics, except for the center role (the one I played in inline hockey).

sokker is the best, but has not players :(

Show some respect for someone else's opinion. You don't have to agree, but you can voice your disagreement without being offensive.

its not offensive, its a valid question.. its like getting some granny smith apples and some braeburn apples and saying that they are all red!

I have no problem with his opinion, i just dislike that he is getting facts wrong.

I played HT for 4 years and was a quite decent manager, but I got very borring in the end. And after playing SK for 2 weeks I could see that it was a much better game.

In HT you reach the "salery cap" at a certain time. After that you can't pay for your players high salery and need to sell your best players to make your team run arround.
It sucks that your teams development almost stops because of player salerys.
The best players are cheaper than a poor player bacause no one can afford their salery.
In most HT nations the ratings in the top-division havn't improved for past year.

I think there is no need of making this kind of threads, trying to figure out what game is better.

The best game is the one you like best. For instance, someone may like HT for its community but I do not. It is about likes and dislikes. I prefer a good match engine, many tactics to use, and so on.

I play SK and Freekick but I had played HT as well.I have known HT for more than three years and it has not changed too much....I mean, its match engine(which, in MY opinion, is the most important) has not changed dramaticaclly, only small changes.

I only hope SK and FK will not be as HT is......

Which is exactly one of the reasons why HT is a good game. Abrupt, badly communicated changes are bad.

(I love both HT and sokker, each game having its own strenghts and faults.)
