haven't seen the old one yet. Not planning to either, after seeing the new version.

I really like a lot of the older movies, often (much) better as the remakes. And the stories often differ a lot and really can't be compared to each other. I think I haven't seen the 1953 version yet, will do it soon :)

Just watched Pandorum but half way I remembered I had already seen it ones :P Was ok but not great, gave it a 6 on IMDB.

Nice lists:

Wiki - List of film remakes A-M
Wiki - List of film remakes N-Z

I did notice some movies in these lists I never knew of it are remakes. The size of these lists show the lack of imagination of many movie-makers :P

EDIT: Eeeuuuhhh ... www.nextmovie.com - 50 Upcoming Movie Remakes (Yep, 50!)

People who think Hollywood movies need more imagination than explosion they should watch more Woody Allen movies. My last one : Midnight in Paris.

Vicky Christina Barcelona was a good one too.

Vicky Christina was kinda weak to be honest
I liked Midnight in Paris though, really nice one

best 2004+ Allen's movie is Cassandra's Dream :)

haven't seen all his movies yet, but definitely will

the thing is, Allens is not really Hollywoodish. His movies are more better reviewed in Europe than in the US, one could say that Woody is a European type of movie maker...

Does he actually make his movies in Hollywood?
2012-01-19 00:17:52
Before - maybe, but since a couple of years he makes all movies in Europe [Spain, France, Italy, England, now I think he's planning to direct something in Russia]

They should be banned from doing remakes if the original main actor from the original could still feasibly play the main role. Christian Bale isn't really old enough to be too old for American Psycho.

On the other hand this particular role requires body perfection from the actor, he must be in his peak years as a man. Don't really think Bale would still be able to pull that off...
