hahaha sorry mate, i was living in denver for some time, and i knew a american family with irish origins, the man of the family was a marine in the past, and he was very clever, it was nice to talk with him :)

Most Americans haven't got a clue what Romania is and I'll surprised if some of them won't ask you if Romania is a type of food or if there's a town called Romania in Nebraska. It is just your misfortune that Havlicek is older and more worldly than most other Americans, thus he has better grasp of geography.
BTW,... Spain IS in South America and Madrid is a type of Indian food, not so? ;-)

Not everyone is as good at geography, many people in many countries lack at this domain.
For instance, I was in UK visiting a castle and an employee asked me where I was from and
when I told him that I was from Romania, he asked me if this is a region in the south part of UK.
So we can debate a lot on this subject;)

On the other hand, many Europeans don't know all of the U.S. states
I don't know them, but I don't critize Americans.. :-)

it's not hard to name states of USA if You are sitting in fron of Your pc with google power on Your side. if You want try Your geography skills try geosense or other sites like this...
