I guess I should take a look at this Breaking bad. Talking about awesome TV shows, then Prison Break season I has been one of the best for sure.

Reading the books is beter though, with game of thrones. In the second season the serie-makers already make some major adaptions compared to the books.

not a serie, but the hobbit also goes way different than the book ... still its a great movie. As Levi says: different, not necessary better.
