Just finished watching episode 3 of Sherlock.
Wow. Great season, it's a shame it's always so short [even though it's 3x 1.5h]
I'm a bit disappointed with the direction they went with [the crime solving is just 'by the way', not the main thing] but the quality of writing, action and effects is amazing.

It is a series of many mixed reactions. I personally enjoyed it as there was a lot of character development that will hopefully lead to the next series picking up pace quite quickly.
For example i liked the Mycroft view of Sherlock as a child, small touches go a long way.

I like the concept of the show and how its played out but in my opinion they did a terrible choice for the actor to play Sherlock. But thats just my view.
Imo he is perfect for the character. Didn't really like him for first 15 minutes, but by the end of first episode I was amazed:)
maybe he was expecting a Robert Downey Jr type of Sherlock
it's a well prepared character, genuinely funny, but doesn't really fit with the real-from-the-books Sherlock:)

the main difference is that the movie Sherlock is funny intentionally, he has a huge sense of humour and certain 'joie de vivre', while TV Sherlock is extremely bored with life and almost every funny moment concerning him happens by accident, without his knowledge...and it's usually the awkwardness and his lack of understanding of social norms that is funny
Well yeah, i guess it is a sign of a great actor if he can pull off being funny while being absolutely miserable and dramatic.
But to me he seems too much of a fictional character, he acts something like too young Dr. House pushed too far. I guess i do have other kind of Sherlock in my mind when i think about the character, his personality and his looks.
Or maybe im just too old for this shit.

Downey is not funny at all to me. And same goes for his character
I was surprised about the way they did this new season, but I kinda liked it since it was kinda different.
But I am curious about what will happen next.
