Sakartvelo U21 - Scotland U21 0:4
(Home 18', 61', Dempsie 79', Law 84')
A confident victory in a test for the U20 national team. I am satisfied with most of the things that happened in the match. A few things still need to be gently improved, in the next game we need to test something new in the offensive. There are not too many possibilities there, but you have to combine something because next season qualification.
The next match will also be played U20

Scotland U21 - Honduras U21 2:0
(McBride 38', Dempsie 73')
Festival of missed opportunities.

The last meeting we played against Honduras. According to the agreement, it was an U20 match so I could test a few things for next season. The test went well, the match ended with our victory, we took away the arguments of the opponent and our positioning caused him quite a bit of difficulty. The Honduran players had to resort to fouls several times, which resulted in 2 red cards. Our decisive advantage did't affect a more impressive victory. The effectiveness of the strikers failed. This is due to low skills.
However, it is gratifying that both the current U21 and U20 teams are able to create situations, defend access to their own goal. This gives hope to put up a fight and try to achieve the best possible result in the WCQ next season. All we need is a striker.
The latest results put us in 50th place in the ranking. We have overtaken Norway and Ireland. Now we have to guard this place because it puts us in the 3rd basket before the WCQ draw. The plan is still to catch up with Ecuador and Shqipëria. This will allow us to take a safer place before the draw.
However, it will not be easy... Why? That's in the next post.
P.S. Cameron McBride - goal on debut
Ian Dempsie - In the debut against Sakartvelo a goal, now the second game and the second goal

Druid's Cup U20/21
The next match we will play is the Druid's Cup match. I will describe the individual matches in separate posts so that it will be easier to comment :D or describe what happened in them.
Before that, however, I invite you to the tournament thread, you can learn the rules and keep up to date with all the results Druid's Cup.
Rules (most important):
- we can only use 4 players who are 21 years old
- higher ranked opponents can use accordingly:
*team from the first basket: only players u 20.
*the team from the second basket: max 2 players aged 21.
* team from the 3rd basket: max 4 players aged 21 (that's us!).
* team from the 4th basket: no limit on players aged 21.
The group phase, in which we play each against each other, is followed by the knockout phase. Depending on the place we occupy in the group, in subsequent matches we fight for the corresponding places in the tournament.
And here is our group
GROUP F
1. Srbija U21
2. Bosna i Hercegovina U21
3. Scotland U21
4. Slovenija U21
To sum up our group: Scotland VS former Yugoslavia :D
A very difficult group - Serbia is a quarter-finalist at this year's World Cup, plays mostly U20 anyway and has a much better record, a well-balanced team and an experienced manager.
Bosnia and Herzegovina - also a very balanced team, a participant in this year's World Cup, has been playing a U20 team for many games and is doing very well.
Slovenija - theoretically a weaker team than the others, including us. However, it should be remembered that they can field all U21 players. I managed to win against them Kazakhstan at the beginning of the current season so I hope with much better players I can do it again.

Druid's Cup U20/21

SCOTLAND - BOSNIA & HERCEGOVINA 3:2
( Dick 13', 57', Law 68' - Nedeljković 19', Kapisoda 83')

DICK RULES!!!
In the first match of the Druid's Cup, we caused a huge surprise. We beat the favorite from Bosnia and Hercegovina 3:2. A great day was had by Phil Dick, who played a great game and scored 2 goals. In addition to the goals, he created a lot of problems for the opponent's defense. One goal was added by Law and the whole team played offensively and very courageously.
The goals could have been more. Our tactics caused problems for the Bosnians resulting in a red card for one of the players. Despite the advantage, the end of the match was very nervous as the opponent attacked hard. However, on guard stood L. MacVanish, whose interventions allowed to win the victory.

NO SURPRISE
In the second match of the Druid's Cup, unfortunately, there were no surprises. The Serbs defeated us 4:0. Despite the fact that we tried to fight for the best possible result, we did not manage to surprise the opponent, who took advantage of their strengths. Individual skills sealed the success of the favorite. It's a pity that we didn't take advantage of the situations we had and that we didn't manage to finish some interesting actions with a shot.
We will draw some conclusions from this match, an interesting experience against a very strong team, which will certainly pay off.
We will play our next match in this cup against Slovenia. I'm hoping for a win, 3 points and second place in the group.

LAW SHOW!!!
The last group match is behind us. I was very much hoping for no surprises in the second match because I was calm about the skirmish with Slovenia. I was hoping for a victory since the opponent does not change tactics. I knew the tactics because I worked them out when I was leading Kazakhstan. Then I won the match with a much weaker NT so I knew it would work this time too.
However, I didn't anticipate that the real show would be given by Murray Law. Scoring 5 goals in a U21 match will certainly be a pleasant memory for this player. One goal was added by Dick - the hero of the previous winning match. Especially since the adventure with this NT for both of them is coming to an end.
It would be beautiful if both showed similar effectiveness in the next match. The task will be very difficult as our opponent is the Ukrainian team. They achieve higher scores, have really good players and a good coach. We will not give up and will fight!

I watch all the matches of the first NT. I was thinking of a topic that would be a summary of the first and youth NT. I gave up because I probably wouldn't be able to do it due to time. Lack of time.

HATTRICK SuperDICK!!!
Ooops, we caused another surprise. A decisive victory against the favorite. 4:1 in the match against Ukraine is a really nice achievement for me. Of course, we absolutely took advantage of the fact that the opponent was weakened by injuries to 2 basic players. This does not change the fact that we were prepared adequately and significantly limited the opponent's strengths. Another effective match performed by Dick. It's a pity that the u21 national team is saying goodbye already:

I have included players who played during my tenure. Our offensive will suffer the most because we don't have a single striker who has similar skills to Law and Dick. In midfield, Adam Menzies also provided many tactical opportunities. It's a shame, let's hope they will make a name for themselves in the adult NT.

LOST MATCH FOR FINAL
It was to be expected that the Suomi team would have a significant advantage and win the match against us. Unfortunately, our new yearbook suffers from some deficits. The biggest of these is the very poor situation in the ATT formation. We only have Hugh MacLeister, who still needs to train a lot. He needs improvement in striker, technique and speed. Even if the skills could be improved quickly we are still talking about the only striker. I will write something more about this when I present the staff for next season.
Returning to the match - we deservedly lost to Suomi, who, in addition to interesting tactics, showed an advantage in the individual skills of the players. The result itself could have been predicted, especially with 3 goalkeepers had injuries and played GK with low form. However, I was worried about the individual mistakes of our defenders. They are due to deficiencies in technique and therefore the ball often bounces off, is intercepted by the opponent's attackers. This made Suomi have a lot of chances to strike a blow.
In the next match it will again be necessary to make some tactical flicks to think about scoring a goal. As I mentioned, I'm not going to play defensively - so I'll be looking for options to create goal chances.
Ahead of us is the match against Sweden. Sweden, which has made significant progress, is the favorite for the match for 3rd place in the Druid's Cup final B.
