Very good result which gives us 4 points after 2 games and we are very close to qualifying for next round. Spain has same amount of points as us and the group winner can be determined by goals (they have +4, we have +3) if both Spain and Germany win in last round. We will definitely go out with first team against Osterreich.

A bit unlucky that we scored 3/21 and Spain scored... 4/8, but oh well :).

As for the game: I decided to play more offensively today to ensure that we won't end up with a draw like against Spain, fortunately it paid off. The finishing ratio could have been better, but what matters for now is the 3 points.

Uff, ich habe kurz vor der 70. Minute ausgemacht, konnte ja nichts mehr anbrennen. Und dann klauen uns die Nachbarn noch unverdient den Gruppensieg :(

Interessant dass du Bayerschmidt direkt nach seinem Wechsel spielen lässt, das hätten hier sicher die Wenigsten gemacht mit der niedrigen TD. Aber ich habe keine nennenswerten Stellungsprobleme gesehen.

Und mit Hesse muss ich reden, was er da in der 51. Minute macht, geht natürlich gar nicht.

We have better strikers, we have a superdivine GK in top form. They get 4 shots and score 3 goals, we get 14 and score two. So far we have 5 goals out of 42 shots.

I'm sorry about the result, but what else can you do?

It's annoying since Spain lost points, a win would give us 1st place. Instead we end up 2nd.

I gave a free week to some players (Prudlik, Melchisedech, Biskup, Andres, Nahrendorf, Haring) to avoid cards/injuries. Unfortunately we still got a red card for Fritz in 90th minute...

Extremely annoying game, 14 shots is one thing, but we had some many 1v1 and so many times strikers couldn't control an easy ball... eh

As for Bayerschmidt I wanted to test how he will perform... all in all it was a game that we could afford not to get the max possible result and I wanted to see if I can count on him next week, or if he will create problems. I also thought he did ok, even though we used a high line.

Fortunately the loss doesn't end our tournament, only complicates it a bit (if we get Poland...). I would be really angry if this game kicked us out of WC.

Ok... actually Poland ended up 2nd in group as well, so that makes the result kinda... good for us? :)

ärgerlich, wir waren klar besser. Schön wie die Pässe durchgestochen haben. Ich hätte Bayerschmidt nicht spielen lassen. Aber hab auch nichts bemerkt.

Annoying but in the end it might be a good result for us.

Poland and Romania finished in 2nd spot, so we will avoid two strongest (in players) nations.

Of course we can still get a TOP rival - for example Turkey or Hellas would be very hard opponents.

Great game for Arian Andres, he was a bit quiet for first 30 minutes, but then started actions for both goals and many more situations.

First half was great, we were controlling the game, it got a bit harder when opponents changed their tactic for a wing formation.
A bit lucky first goal for us, I was at first angry that Prudlik shot from that position. But in general I think the lead was deserved after first 45 minutes and the 2nd half was closer, but still I think we were the better team today.

Two "tap in" goals from Nahrendorf, like a classic number 9 :-P

Tolles Spiel für Arian Andres, er war in den ersten 30 Minuten etwas ruhig, hat dann aber bei beiden Toren und vielen weiteren Situationen Aktionen gestartet.

Die erste Halbzeit war großartig, wir kontrollierten das Spiel, es wurde etwas schwieriger, als die Gegner ihre Taktik auf eine Flügelformation änderten.
Ein bisschen glückliches erstes Tor für uns, ich war zuerst verärgert, dass Prudlik aus dieser Position geschossen hat. Aber insgesamt denke ich, dass die Führung nach den ersten 45 Minuten verdient war und die 2. Halbzeit knapper war, aber ich denke trotzdem, dass wir heute die bessere Mannschaft waren.

Zwei „Abschlag“-Tore von Nahrendorf, wie eine klassische Nummer 9 :-P
