hi guys.
got questions regarding 2 situations to do with Conditional orders:
say for both these situation i am training MID in Passing.
for this example it is presumed that 1 full match will give a trainee 100% training.
Mike is a midfielder in my starting 11 set as MID.
Dave is a defender in my starting 11 set as DEF.
Dan is a defender on my subs bench marked as a DEF sub.
Situation 1
i set a conditional order to swap Mike (on the pitch) for Dave (also on the pitch) in the 60th minute.
What happens:
a) Mike gets full training (as he holds on to the title of MID)
b) Mike gets no training (he finished the match as a DEF) and Dave gets 33% training (he finished the match as MID)
c) something else i haven't thought of (please explain)
Situation 2
i set a conditional order to swap Mike (on the pitch) for Dan (the sub marked as DEF) in the 60th minute.
What happens:
a) Dan gets 33% training (as he comes onto the field as a MID since he takes over from a MID)
b) Dan gets no training (as he comes onto the field as a DEF since that is what he was marked as on the bench)
c) something else i haven't thought of (please explain)

I've seen situation A asked frequently, the answer seems to be A
Situation 2 i haven't seen but would go for B, seems the most logical to me.
I think in general that the match orders which your players are given, they keep, regardless of where you move them to.

hmmm...
for situation 1, i was hoping it would be A as this gives you more fredom to move a MID trainee to replace a central DEF who has been red carded and pluf that hole :)
For situation 2, my instinct would be to go for A.
I would think the sub marking of DEF would only be used to rank subs, to bring on the first DEF on the bench in the case where a DEF was injured.
Another way to look at it is:
what happens if you have 1 DEF, 2 MIDs and 1 ATT on the bench, and then you have 2 DEFs injured during the match.
First, the sub DEF comes on. Then a sub MID will replace the second injured DEF. I haven't seen anything to suppose that the new midfielder set as a DEF plays like anything other than a DEF. If he came on as a MID, and you already had 5 MIDs, wouldn't you lose training for having 6 MIDs?
And do swaps from injuries and from proper ordered substitutions work the same way?
An interesting test is to see what would happen if you had an order to replace a DEF with a MID from the bench, and you already had 5 MIDs in play, would you lose training as you would then have 6 MIDs?

thats all pure speculation, so if anyone else has any input, it would be most welcome :)
Easiest way to test out that scenario (2 DEFS injured) would be to set your bench up as described and sub on a mid into a def position.
You would then see on the match report if he played as a mid or a def.
If it is a mid then switch to stamina or just play with a 4 man midfield. I suggest you do it in wednesday's cup game :)

"I think in general that the match orders which your players are given, they keep, regardless of where you move them to. "
This is correct.
:)
I tried this for a game a few seasons back......

Thraddash Torch - Tynecastle FC 0:1
This game, although looking back now, I have no clue what was going on, so not the best example at all.
But I have swapped players (who were both playing) over before, and you can see that they keep their original orders from where they play.
Training is all about the orders you give a player, not about where you play them, so it makes sense that this would be consistent when also making on pitch substitutions etc.
:/
