I have a question regarding training/coaches.

In this example if you were training pace which of these coaches would you pick as head coach-

An "average" coach with unearthly pace or an "excellent" coach with outstanding pace.

In the rules section about coaches it mentions to use a coach with with a high skill level in the area you want to train and in the training section it mentions this also but says that you should decide for yourself how important the coaches other skills are. Do these other skills matter as obviously it is going to cost me a lot more money to recruit a magical coach with unearthly pace than a poor coach with unearthly pace so I need to know I am getting value for money.

Your advice would be appreciated.

The average coach, absolutely no question about it.

The coaches other skills, as a main coach, are beneficial but only when you are more developed as a team and can afford them.

For assistants to the main coach their individual skills don't matter but their General Appraisal does. So rather than have an 'Average' assistant you might want 3 x V. Good or Excellent as example.

Just to agree, and quote from rules.

Training skills

Each coach is graded in their training effectiveness for each of eight playing skills. These grades are valid solely for the head coach, as other coaches only need the general coach skill (see below). You should try and have your coach with the highest skill possible in the area that you intend to train.
