Sebastian Echaust, age: 16

club: Dundee 1893, country: Polska
value: 13 800 £, wage: 345 £
adequate form, tragic tactical discipline

unsatisfactory stamina
weak pace
poor technique
tragic passing
tragic keeper
average defender
average playmaker
weak striker

450k for this dude. What can he realistically net me if trained properly- I train defence. I'm planning to focus on pace, passing, technique, defence and playmaking. I'm not sure how far to develop each skill though in order to maximise profit and also at what age to sell.

Thoughts?

I think it all depends on his talent but even then I think it will be a long time before he is worth what you paid for him. I would pop him a couple of levels of pace to check his talent then decide if he is worthwhile.

You paid a lot, but as deeda says, talent is key. With age 16 you have loads of time to benifit from his talent.

He could be worth a furtune in the future.

Cheers folks. What is the norm when buying trainees? Is it worth going for 16 YOs?

When I started out. I tended to go for ones with adequate+ skills in skills I wasn't planning training often, In the skills I train a lot I don't mind in they are quite low, if its a youngster your planning training for a long time.

Now Im usually after players that fit in with what I already have.

This is the sort of player i would buy as a Trainee

Max Onuţ , age 17
value: 35 700 £

Placed up for sale for: 112 500 £
end of bidding: 2009-03-07 07:32
tragic stamina hopeless keeper
good pace poor defender
adequate technique good playmaker
average passing weak striker

and then would train for a few seasons in the core areas and then they look like this, prob give this one the rest of this season (passing) and then one more season training Playmaking and then sell for a nice profit

Patrício Salema , age 19 - I paid £28K for him

adequate stamina tragic keeper
very good pace average defender
formidable technique adequate playmaker
very good passing adequate striker
