That player is actually in your U21 squad just now, Pat MacEachin.
This guy was one of my first ever pulls, possibly the very first.
Samuel Hillcoat 1419673
Pulled him at solid and he was a 16 year old keeper, he went on to the heady hights of gaining 2 Scotland caps :)
I think that managing your youth squad is down to personal preferance, i would rather pay for the spaces and promote solids+ in the hope of getting lucky and also making a few pulls each season.
Other may disregard the below averages and concentrate on only keeping youths with the potential to reach outstanding+, thus saving them some money but possibly missing out on that talented sellable/trainable 17 year old future NT star.

If you have space, no point firing anyone untill their talent is known i reckon.
Tragic ~ 4 .?

fair point. Until i spoke with suttie a good year ago i always got rid of anything below good. Now i keep average but get rid of anything below. I will revise that now tho :D
but but but... if you keep the likes of unsatisfactory 31... they may come out very good/excellent, but they will also be at minimum 18 (max 20) years of age.
An excellent pull at 16 years of age (maybe even 17) might fetch the pretty penny, but not 18 yr olds.
I'd still advise against keeping unsatisfactory lads.
Even keeping poor lads is kinda desperate

i agree that its fine to promote solids, but only if they've been in the squad for a short period of time, giving them the chance to be 16/17 yr olds.
so a lad who enters as Weak 18 might come out as a solid/very good 17 yr old pull with some luck, and with a bit more luck he's got decent skills and its the start of the season.
