Subject: Stadium upgrades.

2007-02-02 10:08:39
My roof over 4,000 seats cost £240,000.

With good weather all the time.
It will take 80 home games to break even. As fans pay 0.75 more to sit there.
A bummer when you never get a home game in the cup.

However, every time you get poor weather it pays for itself a bit more. Thats unpredictable.

anyways, if you don't have much money to through around... i think trainees give a great return on investment (if you shop wisely)

But what you are really saying is:

At £240,000k a pop "Fcuk" getting a roof :D
2007-02-02 14:15:13
Defo at that price
"£240,000k"

Thats 240M!

240k, I wasted more getting coaches.

I will post when I think Ive broke even. Probably 2009 sometime...

Sorry to slope of at a tangent but would appreciate your thoughts. Currently redeveloping my stadium by adding benches at each end, bringing me up to a capacity of 10400 (supporters 786).

Is there any value in replacing the benches which I put down the line (newbie mistake some time ago) with seats. Going by the maths it would seem to take some time to justify such a move, would I perhaps be better off filling in the corners come the next point of redevelopment?
2007-02-02 15:53:15
it'd cost me £567,000 to buy a roof over just 1 of my big seated stands...
2007-02-02 16:17:59
Those benches you have down the line, they not original?

I would only get more seats when your currently limit is maxing out a lot.

Do your corners next, think about upgrading to seats when you have enough money.. you'll know when you can afford it. :)

he he, that is quite steep :D

(I was talking about lira or something equally worthless....

ok fine, I'm lying and my hole just keeps getting deeper.

Thank god theres none of that "r" analogy going on ;p)

....I might have got away with it if I'd been clever enough to edit out that blatantly deliberate "£" sign. :(

Here is a thought.

Why not just build seating on the sides? (since these seats bring the most revenue)

Nothing behind the goal?

Well, is this ingenious or will some kind soul please point out the fly in my ointment!

:/

Hey, Culture19? Have you checked your ointment for flies? Maybe you should...?

;-)

the more capacity in a stand, the more expensive it costs to expand that stand...
2007-02-07 22:55:13
Many managers do similar....mr gibbage being one I believe.

As suttie points out the larger a stand the more expensive it becomes to expand in future.... so putting everything along the line probably isnt wise once you reach a certain size.

I'll have a re-think once I reach that size. Long time to go yet :)

Up (for anybody looking to upgrade the arena anytime soon)

Yes, there are a few dead flies in my ointment :(
