Subject: NT World Cup Qualifiers

2008-06-09 13:46:45
Group H

België
Scotland
Perú
Nippon
Latvija
El Salvador

This week see's us kick off our campaign with an extremely tough fixture against Belgium, unfortunately their NT are not as weak as their mods :)

With cup games still to come we are so far only missing Peter Lappin due to suspension, however he'll be an important loss.

Belgium are currently world ranked number 2 overtaking Italy largely due to their excellent U21 WC campaign, only losing out to Poland in the final by an extra time goal and manager Hellsangel again will take the reigns for their NT.

So, tough match expected and if we can get as much as a point from this match then we should be delighted.

On the other opponents Peru are the most likely to cause us any bother, it will be interesting to see what kind of approach their new NT manager takes

I wont take the remaining Nations lightly but would expect to see any points won by them to have been taken from each other.

I'd also like to mention the U21's, as most of you will know, i keep track of all future possible U21's and get regular updates but have noticed that compared to strikers and mids are current crop of defenders aged 20 and younger are sparse, so if anyone out there is training up defenders and have any aged 17 -20 who you think may be good enough then please sk mail me and i'll let you know.

If you haven't updated your NT players for a while, even if they haven't popped could you please do so.

or sokker mail to me.

Thanks.
Neil Sherry is the only other player along with Peter Lappin to miss out tomorrow due to injury so we still have a decent squad to chose from.

Kick off v Belgium is 13.00 sk time so 12.00 local.

Leiper is a goat :(

Cannot believe we haven't equalised. We've had so many chances!

agree ... wrong side of the post, last defender, goalie, crossbar, ... what a bad luck :(

Finished 0-1 :(

Honestly thought that at least a point was deserved there but sadly for us our two best chances fell to att mid Derek James rather than our strikers although Leiper missed a good chance or twoand i thought McDermot was going to prod home the equaliser with the last kick of the match. sadly not to be.

Good news however is that is our toughest match now out of the way so things should start to pick up now in ther coming weeks.

Congrats Hells and Belgium.

Was a good game, well done Belgium....and I'd love to buy an NT keeper, but sadly, I'm short by about....well, the full asking price :D

Congrats Hells and Belgium.

You should put your name in stead of mine. You made a terrific tactic today, I got outsmarted. It seems to me you took a good look at the U21 WC final ;)

Good luck in the other games. We'll meet again in 9 weeks. I'll be looking for a better performance then ;)

Scotland are away to Japan tomorrow which means an early rise for some, 8am kick off local time :)

No injuries or suspensions to worry about for this one but form issues will rule out 4 players who may have been involved, 2 strikers and 2 mids but we will still be sending out a more than capable team to hopefully knock in a few goals.

Well, I played them last season with Indonesia and won after an enteraining game with 3-2. They look quite easy to beat if you see their players, but their defense is really tough, though Nevis should have some opportunities to send in some great crosses and thus you eliminate that great defense ;)
