Subject: NT Friendlies Season 13
MacMutrie, unbelievable! :(
Seriously concerned about what is happening to Scottish keepers.
MacMutries injury also prevented the planned second half appearance of Boyd Thompson, a striker with a bit less striking than the two used but higher secondaries, i was hoping that he could change things a bit upfront if needed, which it was. Thankfully the goal threat from Buchanan and Nesbit paid off with a Brent free kick making the difference in a 1-0 victory.

Brent has now scored in each of his last 3 appearances for the NT, not bad for a mid :)
True. I tried something new today (2 mids running along the whole field) and it worked out quite well considering the players' skills. And it kept your winger out of the game quite wel, as well as adding some offensive power.
Quite happy you couldnt do that sub, because the defender who replaced the injured one is quite slow and has only adequate stamina :p

U21 action tomorrow with an away fixture against Austria U21's.
Once again the curse of the keeper strikes again with Shug Waddle picking up a +14 injury on his debut for his new club last week. Fortunately Arran MacMutrie is fit and well, lets hope he finishes the match the same way!
Austria's U21's haven't had an outing this season so it's a very difficult match to call but going by their squad and and after watching one or two of their higher value players then i'd expect a fairly evenly contested match. Maybe only a goal in this one either way.
Having said that, this will be the only chance that our current 21 year olds get at gaining a NT cap this season so i've decided to go with mainly 21 year olds for this friendly despite having one or two better options amongst the 20 year olds. The younger guys will have at least one friendly and a minimum of 3 competitive games next season (assuming that i'm still around) with it being U21 WC year.
Kick off tomorrow will be 11.00am UK time

if you want machowell to play, you can select him. ;-)
I might save Roddy untill week 14 when he can star in a famous Scottish victory :)
Good Luck to Austria too fülöp, a close game with no injuries will be perfect for me.

Delighted at Mcraes performance,he did ok.Will improve his passing for a while and see what happens.
Austria 0 Scotland 2
Yeah Mikey, Macrae along with MacCaw were both debuting today and i thought both done well.
Overall i felt that the back 4 along with MacCombie and Mathie were really solid and were the main factor in stopping Austria getting at least a point, which they probably feel that they deserved.
Sorry to see Mathie go off injured with a +15 injury,(the Austrian lad was more fortunate with a slight injury) this also stopped our other planned sub which would have been another debut in the form of Robbie Finlayson.
Back to WC qualifying next week with what could be a tricky encounter with a recently rejuvenated Japanase side.

Is Anthony Esson in U21 squad? or is he not ready yet?

His low technique and passing meant that he just missed out. Sorry.
