Subject: Scotland v England

2008-09-28 11:50:27
I thought that with this being a special match that we should open a new thread.
Hopefully everyone is aware that this match will be used using our competition winners players and it was all about trying to get more interest in the NT and bringing more Scottish (and Belgian) managers to the forum. Hopefully it worked, even if just very slightly.

Anyway, from our two competitions we have this list of winners who should each nominate a player to feature in next weeks game, if you haven't already done so then please let me know what player you wish me to use.

langhe.....................Done, Keeper nominated :)
stevierob.................Done, Striker nominated
Dandy.....................Done, Mid nominated
runriglovinjambo......Done, Def nominated
-Zack-.....................Done, Striker nominated
Rabb27....................Done, Def nominated
Mikey9Points............Done, Mid nominated
Strider 80................Done, Striker nominated
Elsoopremo..............Done, Def nominated
Qpeg.......................Done, Def nominated
Suttie......................Done, Mid nominated
Diessel....................Done, Mid nominated
Deezi......................Done. Mid nominated
Gypsy King..............Done, Striker nominated

I'll discuss the match once we have raised a team :)

Also, England ran a competition of their own which produced 2 winners, wdp74 and Doughnut Jimmy. They will pick the England team for this match using only players that have came through their own Youth Schools. As long as neither produced Steven Gerrard we should be able to avoid a hammering :)

I only have one player that does not already have a cap that could be even remotely considered.

Finlay MacDonleavy, age: 19
good form, weak tactical discipline

average stamina hopeless keeper
formidable pace hopeless defender
solid technique unsatisfactory playmaker
unsatisfactory passing good striker

So was I you I'd probably be inclined to ignore me, (in this instance.)

Looks like we've found our keeper :)

Actually we have worse than him playing. 45 minutes i reckon he'll get.

I saw him.

I nearly sent you his link earlier..nice pace and passing though :)
2008-09-29 22:14:48
had a 1 euro bid on him, but some idiot polish manager overbid him :(

Mikeys nominated a mid, so just langhe now.

4 defs, 5 mids, 4 strikers nominated.
Langhe has very kindly nominated a Scottish keeper to play as he still hasn't managed to sign any Scots :)

This now gives us 14 players who are all scheduled to feature. I'm going to use a managers pick to put a young 19 year old keeper on the bench with no orders to come on but better safe than sorry.
The team and tactics have now been set, if anybody has a nominee injured in tonights cup matches, please send me an alternative pick asap.

As long as there are no injuries or red cards then all 14 picks will feature for at least 45minutes (3 subs) Only an injury to the keeper will screw things up completely. Injuries elsewhere will possibly mean players playing out of position. One or two already are due to lack of options :)

Here's our squad picked by you.

Keepers

Philip Lakie 7750774
Kerr MacRory 8261199
