Subject: U21 World Cup

I've just read that the match engine has had a little tweak or two and there should now be less backpasses. tbh, that probably suits us more than others given our defence :)

True, I havent seen too many backpasses in the NT match of Indonesia today. Only if there really was no MID or ATT with some space, the ball went back to a defender :)

I just watched Romania v Eesti, there was one or two but nowhere near as many as last week. I also noticed my favourite through ball once or twice :)

Hehe, matches do look way more realistic with new ME :)

There was still a hell of a lot of back passes in our match, mostly from us :(

There's also a lack of chances in most games today, even Poland only managed a 0-0 in a game that produced only 2 chances.

The early injury to Sanderson (sorry Steven) didn't help and those two advanced mids could probably have been brought back a touch. Overall we actually done better than i had hoped for and maybe could even have taken something if our striker had been allowed to touch the ball in the box :) Still we can look forward to the ko stages next week against a seeded team after finishing 3rd in our group.

It should be a close affair in a match that could go either way. The prize for the winner is a place in the last 16 which would be a great acheivement for Scotland so fingers crossed.

Cracking result for us which puts us into the last 16.

A decent game with loads of chances and quite a few missed one on ones for us, I thought MacPhee's run on 30 minutes was brilliant and deserved the goal and i actually thought we had scored ten minutes in to extra time, how that stayed out i dont know.

The USA of course missed an early penalty which would have killed us off but i think that we deserved the match in the end. Nice to see Lady Luck shine on Scotland for a change :)

With only top teams left now we were always going to get a toughie however Belgium dont look as strong as they were last time round when they hammered us 7-0 at this level and indeed they only drew 0-0 with the USA last week. So although i'm not expecting Scotland to go any further, we might just be able to put up a bit of a fight.
