Subject: What a SAVE!!!!
Well he is like the worlds most expensive keeper. I've made better saves than that, luck more than judgement
It's just a very good reflex save, every half decent keeper can make one every now and then.
It's nothing special, it was straight at him, and he was lucky where it deflected

you can attach rhys' comment to basically every top notch save of gk.
great one, no doubt about it. a bit similar to Dudek's save of Shevchenko's shot during the CL final, though Dudek's was a bit more about the luck than skills...

well he did what anyone would have done and stuck their arm out. I've played in goal before and done it loads of times, i've played as a striker most of the time and had keepers do it loads to me. Yeah it looks good, but no keeper will ever be excited about it, they just did what was natural to them.
I've read some time ago that best gks have better than average time of reacting, often they react before they even acknowledge what the situation is, they act without using their mind
exactly, most keepers can do it, especially if you've had years of experience and are agile enough to pull it off. Point blank saves like that with a reliance on instinct are pretty easy to make
i like this one - remember watching it and thinking how the hell did he save that?
Yup. Often 'miraculous' saves are made solely by the fact, that gk made the decision before even striker touched the ball - like the famous one made by Kuszczak at WBA. Heads or tails.
But this kind...if the gk simply stops thinking and guessing and relys on the instinct - it happens, from time to time. That's why I hate the thinking type of goalkeepers, the ones that often don't even make a dive or move - this just means that their reaction time is much worse than it should be, or they don't contribute enough to the game.

Another great save was made this time by Bogdan Lobonţ(Ajax and Romania) in a Champions League game against AC Milan.
