some good old compensation
give a red card for no reason and then don't whistly a clear goalsaving handball (and red card) within 5 minutes :p

no red card = no aftermath, so he've made 2 mistakes now... anyway Real is Platini's club, like Barcelona, always same scenario
I wonder when did supporters of English teams become such pussies
time after time you can hear the chants of Real Madrid supporters...terrible, terrible...

It's always like that there :( Only winning team gets support or... not.
really a bad decision by the officials. nevertheless, united play brilliantly despite the lost.
GGMU!
GGMU!
funniest red card I've see in a while. :) Still, ManU just wasted too many chances.
imho a deserved red card
not intentional, but brutal and dangerous
not intentional, but brutal and dangerous
he just tried to control the ball and didn't saw Arbeloa coming. I agree it's dangerous and and dangerous play is yellow (unless it's on purpose ofc). I mean if strikers hit their opponents accidentally while trying an overhead kick or similar noone is going to give red cards either.
I disagree. I agree that it was unintentional, but that doesn't mean you can't give a red card. Such play is potentially dangerous and therefore, I can understand the red card.
That referee just ruined the game... in the first half Arbeloa should take a red card on an intentional atack at Evra... some referees just don't deserve the privilege to take part in such beautiful games...
runined? no way...it was red card, its football not kung-fu...
Yes, ruined... even Real did not celebrate their victory... arbeloa had an attack on evra in the first half and it was intentional... that was football to you?

I am ManU fan since 1998, but I think it was a correct decision to give a red. It´s not an excuse that Nani didn`t see him coming, doesn`t really matter here.
I must say ur an excellent Manure fan, Vilbu.
before the match I didn´t care not one bit who should win the match. but after seeing once again from different forums-commentaries how "good" loser is an avarage estonian manu fan, I´m quite satisfied to see Real passing by here. some mancs even claim that there was no foul in that red red card situation.. jeez..

silence fool
Vincent Kompany
"Never a red card"
Gary Lineker
"Unbelievably harsh red card. Rotten decision"
Kevin-Prince Boateng
"How can u give a red card for that???is he serious....???thats sad killing a big game like that... "
Joey Barton
"Red card for that is a joke!"
Graham Poll
"The Portuguese winger challenged for the ball with a raised foot and only had eyes for the ball but caught Alvaro Arbeloa. It looked like dangerous play and at worst a yellow card."
Gary Neville
"Nani is a player who regularly tries to control a pass like this over his shoulder and its never a red card! Changed the whole game!Poor ref"
"The Madrid keeper on Vidic looked a similar type of incident."

Vilpu, that ref judged differently for arbeloa (only yellow in the first half at evra with the intention to fault) and nani (red card without intention). And if we consider that the game was quite straight forward until that moment, without tough faults and tentions, I still have the opinion that the ref ruined the game... then I observed the reaction of Real players and staff at the end of the game... they left the impression that they are not happy winning in that manner (not that it was their fault but like they received something for free without asking for it). Then I followed press and specialists' opinions and the majority are saying not red there.
In my opinion a good ref should "read" the match and take more aspects into consideration when he makes a major decision not just to strictly follow his first thought... and last night the game was very good until that moment, nothing suggested that a red card should be given so easy...
And finally, I found Arbeloa's fault:

If this was only a yellow, why Nani's was a red?
