The cost of Ajax's starting XI v Man Shity was €4.4M (including seven De Toekomst graduates). That puts the win into some perspective :D
Surprises, but pleasant surprises.
Ajax 3-1 Man City - very pleasant.
Dortmund 2-1 Real - very, very pleasant.
Malaga 1-0 Milan (does this count?) - meh, not so pleasant.
Arsenal 0-2 Schalke - very pleasant.

Really looking forward to see either Fabianski or Szczesny to get fit and ready to play as Mannone is just one of the crappiest GK's, yet so cocky that after he started to appear in first eleven he wants to transfer in a "bigger" club. The first goal against Arsenal was a joke, awful mistake by GK...
Fabianski isn't class as well imho, too nervous for a top GK
Szczesny has potential to be one of the best of his generation
and Mannone...yeah, no real class at all, not even Cudicini level

At least Fabianski is better than Mannone and handles the pressure better, also doesn't make such noob mistakes as Mannone.
This may be one of the few times I (proudly) say this, Celtic have the second-best chance of qualifying into the knockout stages out of the British sides.

don't know why sir alex insist playing with 1 striker and put rooney as a midfielder until so late in the game although the team was playing bad from kick off with this tactic and also trailing behind.

Another frustrating match there.
Appalling passes throughout the game. Anderson, Welbeck and Nani had an absolute shocker and the tactic just did not work. We were out-played in the midfield, and with only Hernandez up front we were always stuck back in the defence.
We can't become Arsenal last season and rely on RvP to save us.
