I'm still convinced NL overperformed at the WC and their defense is too weak for a top 10 ranking ... below that, many teams can beat each other.

3th place is not based only on the WC, it's based on a number of years. And 3th place on the world ranking is not some coincidence.

come on, at some point Belgium was ranked 4th, that was also a bloody joke.
This whole ranking makes no sense. Even Portugal is almost top 10 ... (rank 11) and that after a horrible WC. Except for a great win over Cameroon, they barely won from teams like Sweden (ranked 29) and otherwise very low ranked opponents (Ireland, Luxemburg), ... in the last year.

World rankings are as corrupt as that goon blatter! Load of shite about a handful of top world teams, the rest can all beat each other IMHO.

Netherlands is one of the better teams in the world, missed a few WC and EC. But hee, it proves nothing. lol

but keep on believing Veltman, Martins Indi, Janmaat, ... are defenders that have the level of a world class NT team. Don't forget to visit the coffee shop in time though.

I know the strengths and weaknesses of the Dutch national team, but I also know 2 months ago we became 3th at the WC :)

The point is, you're only arguments have been avoiding the point all the time. I state again: this Dutch team is not worth the spot it currently occupies as it's defense is simply too weak to justify it. And one of the reasons they are ranked that high, is because the formula which is used to calculate your spot, makes no sense.

I'm glad you acknowledge you act ridiculous. But still, the subject is still no reason to act that ridiculously, it's not normal at all to be such a (peep) over this!

And no, I don't agree. This Dutch team is worth the spot it currently occupies as it's forwards and att mids are strong enough to justify it. Besides, it's not about one line that must the best in the world, it's the overall team that makes a team strong or not. 11 world class players who can't play together will loose most matches against well balanced teams with very good players, playing in top European teams or in the near future, coached by the best coaches in the world. And not only at this moment, but it is like this for many decades now.

The Dutch team wins most of the matches they play, qualified for most WC's and EK's and gets to the next round also, second and third in last 2 WC's, etc. No need to use 14 years FIFA top 9 ranking to show a team like this is one of the best in the world, all other stats say enough already. So blinded?

let's not waste any more time on this, we clearly won't agree as you keep avoiding the whole starting point where I say the result of Czech Rep - Netherlands isn't that surprising, where you react with the WC ranking and me claiming this ranking is made on illogical formulas.

Without Robben, Van Persie, Huntelaar, NL is average. CZ team isn't better though.. some old stars like Cech and Rosicky, the rest: meh.. I'd see both teams on the same level as Switzerland.
