PES has a terrible player database
a completely average player from Legia, Mikita, who is too weak to play for Legia has higher skill than Lukasz Piszczek from Borussia...:D
Furman 85 and Zyro 84...both better than Blaszczykowski, almost whole team of Newcastle United, and on the level of Liverpool's first team

As you said, we need to keep in mind that this is a game (and also FIFA, PES, CM, etc...) and things will never be 100% accurate.
Now I'll just wait to see I greg say something. If he agree with that methodology we can improve it.

Best database would be FM.... :) But much bigger work converting many more skills in to few....
