That is a interesting idea. Do you know any website with a database from those games?

I found some like this one: http://tools.fifaguide.com/database.php, but search need to be done manually.

We could create a "table" to relate skills and them present it to greg to see if he approve.

i watch premier leaque for about 8-9 years... i'm no specialist of course, but i think i know pretty good most of the players... there's no easy way to solve players skills if u don't work on it... but they could select around 80-100 users that know pretty good a specific team from the WC ( not their own, and a user can be specialist in more then 1 team if he knows them ) and at least 3-4 for each team... then thoose 3-4-5 consult and came up with a basic skill... after that the officials say their own opinio and a consult a few specialist statistics sites and adjust the skills to be pretty realistic and make a fair difference between players with the same position and stlyle, and between a good, a great or a star player... of course this would require some work, but in 3-4 weeks could be made, and this is only one every 2 years... it may be a problem for thoose weaker and not so known teams from the WC like Honduras, Australia, Iran, but the rest whould be ok

you've stolen my idea;p

I have two suggestions of how it could be done, based in FIFA 14 attributes:
1) Simplified one, just take the following attributes

From basic stats:
Pace = pace
Technique = dribbling
Passing = passing
Defender = defending
Striker = shooting

From Mental stats:
Playmaker = Vision

From Physical stats:
Stamina = Stamina

--------------------------
2) Take all attributes and make simple mean with them, for example:
Sokker passing = (Crossing+Long Passing+Short Passing) / 3. E.g.: 99 + 90 + 60 = 83.


With those values, we just need to make a simple cross-multiplication:
100 = 18
89 = 16
78 = 14
and so on...

It would be like this:
98-100 = 18
92-97 = 17
87-91 = 16
81-86 = 15
75-80 = 14
70-74 = 13
64-69 = 12
59-63 = 11
53-58 = 10
48-52 = 9
42-47 = 8
37-41 = 7
31-36 = 6
25-30 = 5
20-24 = 4
14-19 = 3
9-13 = 2
3-8 = 1
0-2 = 0

Yes, but look, it is still not automatic and not scalable. We only have 2 weeks until the start of the World Cup. =(
