Subject: »[info]DevDiary 80: “Price is what you pay, value is what

@Raul:
I don't know if anyone made this proposal, but in my opinion it's a good idea...
Considering that training will be more effective with official matches in the future, I think that it should be a good thing removing play-outs for the 5th to 8th positions: the winners of the group play with each other in a play-off (home and away, if you prefer). So half of the winners goes to the upper level and the last two teams of every group go down directly.
So... more balanced matches, the winners' prize (if it isn't promotion) is additional training and we don't reward losers for their very bad season.
Otherwise... direct promotion for all winners and direct relegation for the last four classified of all the groups, in order to give hope for a speedy climb even for new users.
Is my proposal reasonable? Can devs reflect on this?
Thanks for your answer.

There is a sokker app, and from memory there is a game every day (but I could be wrong). It's fun for a couple of weeks and then it just gets too much, or you have to work and end up half a season behind etc. It's not good, that's why I quit.

It's not explicitly stated as sokker, but I think it was by the sokker devs.

But yeah, it's terrible lol

Whilst I like the creativity, it makes it difficult for small countries.

This is because you will have human users being autorelegated in to inactive leagues where they must stay for a season.

At least when teams have a chance to defend their spot, the human team stays in the top league and the bot team stays in the bottom league

Yes, but it's not sokker xD and you need to pay to get. So, it's difficult to attract people from the beginning.

And moreover, it's very difficult to find, it doesn't have enough publicity.
I found it because I saw in the advertisement in sokker, but directly in play store is impossible (there are millions of similar apps before).

@Dtox9 arranging wc final tactics from pc in hotel in Cuba is not exactly fun :) especially when your wife is waiting in the lobby to go to the beach :)

I said what I wanted to say, some dissapointed had to come out. So for now it will be cool again :) Sure no problem.

And indeed, good to have at least a discussion, but that is far from enough to make up a decade of nothing. Something has to be done this time, and right. And my doubt is about that last part, now even more than before.

I see you point as said before, but I think it is good to also reset some attitudes cause the situation has changed.

Certainly what Achmid said is also a valid point.

Your reasoning is spot on.

@ Raul
I want to commend the approach of the admins, which made it possible to discuss the new game design with all players. And it gives me hope that the game will be even more interesting. I read a lot of suggestions and comments regarding the length of the season, the number of matches per week and the type of competition, but the more I think about everything, I always come to the conclusion that each option depends on the mode of training or vice versa. I would like to avoid playing addiction games (any type off competitions) with training. Matches played only for training purposes are not watchable and interesting. If you are thinking of introducing new competitions instead of friendly ones just to train the players, then for me, it is a complete failure. I am in favor of introducing a new competition (international leagues throughout the season) instead of friendly because of the increase in attractiveness and content. Who wants and has the time to play can play an extra league, and who doesn't want, can only play the national league and cup as before.

If you are going to drop the season down to 14 weeks because you don't think those 2 weeks matter. Please bear in mind the following.
A 16 yr old could basically have 13 seasons of training.
Therefore, that's 26 weeks of lost training.
You can potential put many skills on a player in 26 weeks.

And even losing 1 week is 13 weeks of training lost.

Even raising training speeds isn't a good option to fix that because as has been pointed out current players who can be trained still would also benefit from that.

Therefore, nothing good comes out of making the season shorter.

Absolutely right !!

Actually now :

- national cup: I play team B for training like a large majority of players (in france). Because we loose money to play with a "weak" team A... Better play 2-4 cup rounds for money then training B with friendlies.

- League : I dont play the first place : I have got opponents that i cannot compete because i will loose all my economic training system. For many of us, especially "small" teams, fighting for the first place is a punishment. Many times i see teams downgrading their team because the goal is the LAST position for reaching a lower division : its easier to manage for money and training.

- Tactics: Im really aware about tactics, best sokker feature for me. But you can't challenge during a season VS better team ratings just by tactics. That will not change anything at the end of season, and finally your choice are about positioning for a training plan. So i play the same tactics all the time, no changes. Exactly like a LARGE majority of my opponents...

All this challenges cannot be fixed by changing only a new league/season system or certainly not "keep it at it is".
We need to talk about new challenges... with a new training system.

You can't stop progressing just because the transition may be hard. Let's choose where we want to go, and then we'll think how we want to achieve that goal

Guys I see something changed today this is unacceptable dev approach instead of the huge news on Friday we should be notified that deployment will be made and what exactly .now even if you did not change anything in me every one that lose today will blame you :)
