Subject: »[info]DevDiary 80: “Price is what you pay, value is what

Well started with international cup or it will be league, then we can also have regional, then additional domestic cup, also friendlies, also maybe 2 league games per week... its just to much to put in calendar
2020-05-15 20:17:48
Just add women league!!! One match for everyday!!!

People will rely more on their own juniors, but juniors are complete random right now.
Many old teams will stop buying young players (16-19yrs) to train because if would slow them down. They will rather focus on buying players around 22-24yrs for the training who are already good enough to play official matches. This could inflate already high prices of such players.

imho it will be the same as today, we will keep players which fit our plan and sell those which don't. Only the plan will change.
2020-05-15 21:01:15
But, major reason is a bit different - league system reorganization and presented yesterday training reform are most important changes we want to introduce (so, for lot of you it will be great info, main part of revolution stops here;), other ideas will rather be an extensions, than changes) That's why we want to start discussion with these two areas, becouse it will be also a starting point for any other work we need to do. It also works pretty well to use your experience and knowledge, we already used lot of user ideas for our modernisation plan.

What about the injuries?
2020-05-15 21:01:20
We dont want to many changes about coaches - 1 main coach + 3 assistants, we will just reveal their efficiency - so you will be able to decide how current investment in coaches affects on training types (general and formations).

Brilliant solution. Thank you.

Some french manager put a good question : why not use 11 training slots instead of 10 (thinking about the 11 slots of a match) ?

Good question!

You are exaggerating, You just want uber player if the junior shows promise for being such

Here's example of my player as junior right after YS (week 13th, though)
Kordian Głuszczyk, age: 17, height: 174 cm (ID 34708661)
[6]adequate stamina [2]unsatisfactory keeper
[2]unsatisfactory pace [6]adequate defender
[1]hopeless technique [7]good playmaker
[10]excellent passing [10]excellent striker
not much different than Yours

and here is how he is now:
Kordian Głuszczyk, age:30
club: Wściekłe Pięści Węża, country: Polska
value: 136 600 000 din, wage: 2 962 000 din
tragic [0] form, outstanding [12] tactical discipline
height: 174 cm, weight: 75.9 kg, BMI: 25.07

formidable [11] stamina, unsatisfactory [2] keeper
unearthly [16] pace, formidable [11] defender
unearthly [16] technique, unearthly [16] playmaker
divine [17] passing, incredible [13] striker

and pace already dropped; he is imo great player (except form) and his skills also werent distributed like in a dream

It's all about the talent, they say.
And proper training staff, I should add.

Main means the most revolutionary and complex, rest will follow - some injuries adjustmet need to be also develop according to final calendar.

2) I think we should merge National League in smaller countries into Continental cup which would have the same parametres of the National League only it would be international for several small countries from the same continent. It makes no sense to have both National Cup and National League in country which has only 20 users. National Cup would end and the National League would start the next week. It would be pretty much the same competition (or there would be only very few users if you wanted to split already small userbase into weaker and stronger teams).

Makes sense.
Along with your counting users per continent.

If when there are 3 remaining, 2 are very similar, you really need to have a face off between the top 2 ideas because the two "similar ones" may split the vote (so in theory, the non similar one could be "most popular", but really it was the least favoured ones as the other two split the votes).

Spot on.
2020-05-15 21:19:33
Sure, that for countries with few users it's not so important right now (from other hand it's also no harm), but we hope, that finally we will aquire more users, we cant design game only for current situation.

So, its a cup of another chance, Continental Cups are about something different, and it should be addressed via good international competition idea
.

So, not gonna merge countries.. OK

But International can be all of sokker, whilst continental can be for the regions based on FIFA.

With this idea, we basically have 3 competitions with just our home nation, and 1 competition with the rest of the sokker world.

One of the big killers for small countries is their home nation is lacking. Adding another competition using just their home nation will do nothing to keep them.

If we have continental, then it is still 2 competitions for the national teams, 1 for sokker wide, and 1 for a more selective, but not as small as national. This allows us to play more teams, build more rivalries and have more fun.

We have the opportunity to give small nation players a chance, and a reason to stick around. Without them, sokker will not grow in these regions. So whilst we may want to plan for the future, we need to keep the current people so they can recommend to friends etc. and build the game.

So whilst this idea is better than the current system, it is not as good as it can be, and it is effectively giving nothing to small nations (which are the biggest untapped population bases as we are talking countries). So I'm glad the devs saw how another cup could be utilised after the national cup, which in itself is a huge step forward, but a bigger step forward, to help everyone would be much better to take the time on if it already has to be rebuilt anyway.

This is why I have offered to come in and discuss ideas with the DEV team, because things keep getting looked at from the perspective of a polish manager, not one of the 82 countries with less than 100 managers, or one of the 60 countries that don't even have enough managers to fill division 2 (ie less than 40 managers).

I have given multiple ways a continental cup can be incorporated regardless of size of country or length of national cup, and has the potential to grow with the game as well.

If a lot of work is being put in for a small step in the right direction, why not put that lot of work in to making a big step in the right direction

I think you have a point. There should be a way to promote small countries and give them a chance to be better. ie to keep best teams being at least equal and at the same time to promote sokker to their community.
2020-05-15 21:26:07
thats why we need 2 official games guaranteed except of cup - and currently we working on two proposals of that kind calendars.

More and more it seems we're going to have 12 team league 13 week season with 2 league games weekly with additional cup competitions.

All happy.
2020-05-15 21:29:21
Main means the most revolutionary and complex, rest will follow - some injuries adjustmet need to be also develop according to final calendar.

If you can lower impact from non-competitive matches and introduce medical staff, it will be just fine.
2020-05-17 19:17:21
wouldn't it be just better to have 2 obligatory matches per week (league+national cup/friendly) which would influence training, and then have an international league which would be on voluntary basis, every user would have chance to apply for it in last week of previous season. This international league wouldn't influence training and there wouldn't be injuries in it.
I think this would be the good compromise for a lot of current players, who like current system and don 't seek more matches and also for new (and also som of current) players who want to play more games.
It would also make international league more competitive because there would be just players who want to compete, because if you make people play more matches, it may end up with some managers just playing corner tactics (more matches = more injuries) or half of managers using first team and rest B team...).

No, no idea about it:) so, we have some first fake news in Sokker, it's geetting interesting ;)

I play against a weak 20 skilled bot, while a new manager has no cup match.

About impact of arcade games on rank - it will be fixed, there sould be none. Or maybe some dedicated ranking for arcade, but not connected with general one.

Okay greatl So Arcade matches will give no advantage anymore for whatever feature in Sokker? Also not the daytraiding option of misusing Arcade matches to make it easier to sell players a couple of days later?

EDIT: and if I remember correctly, in the past you could have no cup match the first round and went to second round without playing a match. That would be more fair, so all managers can play in the cup and not only top 128 (incl some bots and without human controlled teams who are below 128)
