Subject: [Idea] Merge of small countries/leagues

Hello good day to every one!
I post this here because in the first 3 pages of this forum I haven't seen a topic attending this issue.
I think SK's biggest problem, beyond training and the length of the season, is the inactivity of some leagues. In Panama, I got to count as MUCH 11 active users according to the "World" page in the left menu. I'm in the round of 16 of the cup, and I'm still playing against bots.
This I think is the biggest problem.
Just speaking of Central America, a league could be formed with Costa Rica (13 users), Cuba (81 users), El Salvador (9 users), Guatemala (8 users), Honduras (16 users), Jamaica (4 users), México (42 users) Nicaragua ( 8 users) and Panama (11 users).
That league would have 192 users. You could complete 3 complete divisions and 11 leagues of IV, full of active users. Doesn't that sound much more tempting? In all the ones I described, except Cuba, we cannot complete or complete the first division + 1 league of II.
If we want to promote the game, we have to attend to the users that are already there, rather than thinking about the ones that will come. If the leagues continue to be like this, they will end up disappearing. I am in 2nd division and it is not entertaining to spend 16 weeks competing against BOTs because I was relegated from 1st. And when I promote, it will happen to 2 other users who compete only against BOT.
It seems to me that it is an urgent matter to attend to.
Cheers!

Idea of having regional competition is live but not yet deployed. It's really hard to point at exact pages in any of few threads it had been mentioned.
Yeah, I know it was mentioned, but I think it is a point to attack straight forward.
I dont think that it would be so difficult to achieve.
The only thing to do is to create a new league and move all the users from those countries to the new league.
For the Champions Cup, the best team for each country can be the representant of that country in the cup, although that Team dont win either the league or the cup of the new tournement. (For example, Team ABC is the best team in Panama, but that team plays in II.3, then that team represent Panama in the Champions Cup).
I think 2-3 seasons for this change is a lot, and most of the users may leave the game before.

As far as I'm concerned it seems that the basic idea is to attract so many users to the game that merging would no longer be required. Nevertheless, I think you and the other users from smaller countries should push on devs with that, because in my opinion users from the bigger countries don't really understand the problem. They think (including me) they get the point, but it's not the same as actually playing in such countries. We may always split the countries after several seasons if we have so many users, hopefully.
So, +1 from my side.
So, +1 from my side.
Thanks for you support, Bartosh11!
It is exactly what you said! You may understand the point, but you don't really know how frustrating is to play against bots when the possibility of merging and play with another users is that easy.
If it not that easy, it would be great for devs to explain why.
As for the point you said that the main idea is to attract users to the game, I understand. But would you keep playing a game where you just play against bots? For that, I would play football manager or FIFA career mode...
And I haven't comment about another important point of the game: Forum. All those countries' forum are dead. IT would me way more fun to play in a league with an active forum.

Growing of soccer can take a lot of time, meanwhile we need to enjoy the game this process of merging/unmeaning should be automated for both directions. I know its not easy but its an option though merging country is a bit sensitive topic some countries may be against such thing so do not know need more opinions on this..
PS:main concern are forums will be hard

I think that if there is really general consent in small countries for the merge that you should push Devs to change their decision. I too think that even if the advertising was sucessful in these countries that the process of new users settling is too slow and unpredictable. People need to enjoy the game meanwhile. Plus if the addition of new countries is planned they will face the same problem
Lol good luck with that.
This has already been proposed to the DEVs - they don't want to do it.
The idea of an international League or Continental League has been proposed - they don't want to do this, definitely not as a league, and the cup idea got removed.
Some selfish people from large nations say "they wouldn't care about the international league if it were in place, and it would be pointless for them" well the national league is pointless for you, at least with an official international league, you would have something worth sticking around for.
The DEVs do not understand, people from large countries do not truly understand (as pointed out earlier). Here's some easy timeframes for people to understand.
The new changes won't come in to play for another 3 seasons = 48weeks.
If on Day 1, they advertise and suddenly 100 users join Panama, these teams will take at least 5 seasons (5 x 13 = 65), 65 weeks, to be of any challenge to elzucky = 65weeks.
So at absolute minimum, with advertising day 1, people suddenly joining on day 1 and sticking around, and knowing enough to be able to do it in 5 seasons (which would only be experienced users), the DEVs expect you elzucky, to stick around another 113weeks (over 2 years), before you can get some appropriate competition.
And this is more exaggerated in even smaller countries that have less than 8 (or 12 once the change happens) users, who will be against bots every season, and not every 2nd season.
So after 13 years of loyalty, with a lot of them being as you explained, they want a minimum of another 2 years of you doing the same thing, before there is any chance of you having that extra competition and chat you desire.
And this is ONLY if somehow their advertising is successful in the day and age of quick mobile games.
Small countries won't grow if you don't look after the current users, so they can mentor those coming in the future. This is why an International League is necessary, and if not, then merging of small countries together, either by language, or continent or anything else.
It's not hard to do, it's not hard to put in the rules that once a country reaches 100 users, they will receive their own competition, and it is 100% necessary to keep small users and nations in the game.

+1 - You have been a good spokesman for the plight of countries with low number of users.

Thank you, it's just a shame people from bigger countries, who have zero idea what it is like, are trying to think they know, and then implement, or vote to implement, changes that hurt us small countries.
I have only ever suggested ideas which help all countries, but it's constantly going up against ideas that help a few countries.
If I wanted to suggest things (which would help small countries, but not large) I would be suggesting:
Any country with less than 40 users can have two teams per manager - no trades between teams though
Small countries to get more sponsorship than large ones, to help them grow and make up for lack of stadium income (currently small countries are actually paid less than large countries, regardless of how strong they are, or how many ranking points they have, just look at agbell from Australia vs Italy, and he ears 2/3 what they get)
Any country less than 10 users can have 60 youths, less than 20 users can have 50, less than 40 can have 40 youths.
So whilst these would help, especially the two teams, in creating a more interesting experience for small countries, I see the problem with doing it, as it is "unfair" on large countries. But even then, it has less of an impact on large countries than what the new changes (aimed to help large countries) have on small countries, but those from Poland, from France, from Germany etc. do not see that, and do not care because it helps them get ahead.
I want to make a fair game, that helps everyone regardless of location.
Others just want a game that helps increase the divide between large and small nations, but they don't see that once you kill all the small nations, there will just be 10-12 teams left in sokker, not NT world cup, no multiculturalism, and less overall users because you have killed most of your potential userbase.

This eerily sounds similar to the way ICC treats some of its associates.

I personally disagree with most of these points except the part where small countries are paid less sponsorship money than the large countries. What's even the rationale behind this? This needs to be rectified ASAP.

Sorry, I was using those examples are tongue in cheek examples of things I could suggest if I only wanted to help small countries. I don't agree with doing it, but pointing out that every improvement I have worked hard on and offered, and which the community has often really liked, is after working out ways to make sure everyone is being looked after, big or small, new or old, casual or hardcore.
And also that if those examples WERE implemented, they would still have less of an affect on large countries and users, than what the new changes will have on small countries and users, which shows just how lopsided the new changes are in favour of large countries

I can see how the DEVs don't give a *%#$ about changing this problematic, as we are in the DEVELOPMENT FORUM and we did not get any reply from them.
Small countries will dissappear if you don't attack this problem seriously.

Enlargement of divisions and small countries (containing a few users): We agree that for small countries, enlarging leagues is not as attractive as for larger countries. But along with the changes, we plan to conduct intensive marketing activities that are also more focused on the markets which currently have the smallest amount of users. Thus, the problem should be reduced when we are recruiting new players. However, if this shall not happen - we will consider various ideas to solve this problem (such as ideas of merging countries into large groups).
But that is what was pointed before.
We have to wait 3 seasons in order to the changes been applied, and then like another 3 seasons for new users to be competitive. Then, from now, we need AS MINIMUM 6 seasons (If magically 100 users appears in the first day of changes) to have some fun in the league.
6 seasons are 2 real years.
