Subject: [idea] Financial Fair Play in Sokker
I am glad that you stuck around 20 years...
You have to have vision to understand my ideas!
This game is all about numbers: 3 is bigger than 1, so 3 will beat 1 come match day! The tactical impact is very little, motivation of players is inexistent, the hired coach is a puppet that only provides traning, the players have no individuality.... just numbers!
Supporting lazy, unmotivated, money hungry managers until their appetite for the game comes back, so they can CRUSH EVERY OPPONENT for a few seasons (and than they go back to logging in once a month), is not healthy for the game and it's not fair towards active managers that pull their hair out every day here!
Ciao!

there is a lot of ways to turn sokker into a game which would have 1M+ active users, but not this one;)
tactic impact is HUGE. I was losing to one team in my country (with similar players value and avg mark) many times despite which of MY tactics i was using, but one day i decided to analyze him carefully, because he was playing with one tactic. From that day I have 8 wins 1 draw and 2 loses against him.
He now sold his team and going into rebuild stage :))
How do you rebuild with your offer??? Rebuilding is about training and buying significant players when your trained players are ok to play in compete mode.
Significant players usually are bought not even in a season, but in few weeks. This is how the game works. YOu want to put users in some questionable rules. This is good for users who are looking to play by the "rules".
This is manager. You can invest 100 M in one day for one game. This is your decision to go big or go home. This is all about how YOU want to play this game.

This game will never get a Million users, not when new managers are scared away by the thought that they have to play against dormant mammoths who've been in the game 20 years, and on an unlevel plainfield ! There are so many sandbox manager apps out there, that have better graphics and that satisfy the need for managing a football team on the go, without the hustle!
Tactics only has an impact when similar values come into play. A 53 mark team will never beat a 73 mark team no matter what tactic they use, because there's no team spirit, no extra motivation, no leadership, no impact of the fans on own team or on the away team... etc!
Team rebuild is not necessary to stay at the top, I don't know who invented it but it's BS! Just BUILD! ... gradually... constantly.

As long as you have to play 16ys in official games to give them competitive training, you have to rebuild. You cant train them alongside competing for championships.

I will prove in the seasons and years to come that you don't have to "rebuild" (lay low in the lower divisions for 10 seasons then play 3..4..5 seasons in the first division and than go down again )!
With the new training system it's even easier!

I went down one level when I was about to quit the game but realized laying down is not my thing yes I win mostly cup and championship always someone that rebuild is infront of me but few times I won their too so not impossible but always the hard way..

I like your input often, but this statement is just naïve.
The game is too nostalgic to turn 1M+ new users to come and play this game (for more than a week).
There are things lots of people do not care anymore and slow paced browsergames are part of that.
I think, with the right amount of work and promotion, somewhere between 50k and 75k users worldwide would be a great succes!
More is imo unthinkable.
We live in a world were everything must be achieveable in an instant. Sokker gives you 2 full years, just to get settled to start being competitive...
So in a way, this game is a refuge to flee out of the daily pressure. But most people seek other means to flee.

Has anyone even came up with a reason why having more than X amount is a problem?
The whole financial system is a problem. New money enters the game each week a number of times, but nothing leaves, except when someone quit playing.
By introducing a max amount managers can own, this stops a bit, and for managers who earn the most each week and are very rich, making even more money will stop right away, The extra amount of money is just gone. Teams that are not that rich will not yet have to deal with that max, but will when they reach the max.
And from that moment managers have to make choices again, specially how much to spend in a season, and how much to save when needed, etc. Spent it all on a few starplayers, buy many juniors, a mix of these 2, save a certain amount of money for later in the season... Choices
Ofcourse teams with many supporters and large stadiums playing in top divisions will make a lot more money as teams in lower divisions, so they will have new money to invest a lot quicker as other teams. And with better junior schools and best trainers also more and better sales. (Ofcourse traders should still be stopped! which is possible if bought players don't want to be sold in a few weeks time. And buying these players and because of that have less money to spend in first team, is such a manager decision.)
Ofcourse the best teams will still be the best. But are again like all other managers, who all need to make manager decisions because of limited amount of money.
Funny thing is, most probably all the strongest teams in the world then have the same amount of money. Who will do best.
It doesn't have to be a unrealistic low number, like 10M, because that will kill the transferlist right away. A good balance should be found

And we play app games and consoles nowadays.
Browsergames are indeed not of this time anymore.

Sokker could ( COULD) be successful, if everybody's opinions were listened = Old and New
More Smartphone friendly sokker would be the way probably, but ...Keeping the fundamentals of the game , tactics and 2D/ 3D which ever a user prefers to use + some innovations....( my gosh rules, basic rules need to be updated) 5 subs more bench spots etc... it's the basics.
It's like between keeping the old and implementing the new stuff. People (old users) are not asking the impossible here neither imo, however (personally) im not renewing ''plus'' as i do not feel (personally) that it's worth it. (im also saying it right away '' the user who likes to counter everybody's opinions'' can hold his horses as it's not necessary to write back here).
Sokker is not a bad game, needs just some new features and some basics based on old system. Youths obviously need a huge reform here as currently i don't see why should i have one except calling in bankrupt for my team.
Conclusion: Globally speaking again:
1) Old tactic system should remain
2) 2D and 3D should remain
3) Training system, maybe clarified or explained in a simple way for newbies
4) Youths need reform
5) Display, UI, interface needs effort
6) Marketing is 0 needs attention
7) If player pays plus the game should improve not die out.
8) Issues that have been discussed should get some feedback at least.
9) Injuries never ending story
10) Financials What the hell is going on? Too many changes just kills the game regarding the financial system, analyse and decide for once and for good.

A player's salary should DOUBLE every time when he is resold, thus making heavily traded players unattractive !
A player can have only ONE TEAM PER SEASON ! (accepting being transfer listened every 12 weeks only)
Newcomers should get 100 million over the firs 4 seasons, as a startup capital infusion, to make them also competitive ! :-))))) how about that now, mammoths? ....in your face :-)))))
There's a lot I would do... unfortunately nobody listens... I quess we will just have to see where this boat will float to and if it will crash!
P.S.: R.I.P. stableking.com .... a similar, genial, horse racing manager game that gave "its last breath " in January after some 25 years running ! Great game!

I have a better idea for newcomers. The 250k starting money is too low. However, you don't want to make it too easy to cheat, so you can't give a million. To get your team off the ground you need 3 assistents of at least between formidable of incredible. No one can pay for this when they start.
I suggest:
start with 500 fans and a 5000 seat stadium.
or
give 50k extra subsidy per week for 6 months. (but the first idea is kind of the same and more sustainable)
This will also make the game more fun and encouraging for starters.
Extra idea: put in 3 excellent assistents on a starting team. They will be affordable with the 500 fans and bigger stadium.

Give starting teams a cheap head coach with unearthly pace and 3 excellent, but very cheap assistants with a random unearthly skill with exception of pace, GK and stamina.
Give them 1M starting budget and a decent stadium of 7500 places.
Then give teams started before this change but younger than 1 year (4 seasons) a 1 time bonus of 500k and teams between 1 and 2 years old a 1 time bonus of 250k...as a goodwill sign and an encouragement to stay and play the game!
I don't think there will be 1 older team who will see this as cheating or competition scam.
It's pure encouragement for new teams.
Also...give them at least 2 decent A team players and at least 3 decent 17/18 y old trainees! Give new teams a reason to stay!

Honestly, Mikos and I talk about this a lot. I think the stadium is all that is needed.
Although, I think the head coach idea is helpful too since players won't really know about it until someone teaches them or they read about it.
The main thing sokker has as an advantage is that unlike other sports games like this, it IS possible to be competitive and win games very early on. I play another soccer manager game as well and I'm less interested in it since it's boring as hell with no means of really competing for a while. I log in, but only to spend money on stadium stuff. Boooring.
I do think the eventual merging of tiny countries can help this, too.

New teams don't ''need'' any of the points I pointed out, but it's mainly for encouraging them, so they will not quit as fast as they do now, in general.
Give bot teams 1000 Supporters instead 200, and you can solve lot of beginner problems. ;)
