Subject: [idea] Do sth about Methuselah coaches

The coach market is full of 100+yo Methuselahs. As a quickfix, what about having any 70+yo coach retire once fired, instead of going to the market?

On the long term, coach retirement should be an issue. Perhaps an old coach could (with increasing chance by age, reaching near 100% at age 80 or so) ask to retire at the end of the current season, at which point one can a.) accept it, or b.) ask the coach to stay on the job in exchange for a higher wage (25% or so?). Retirement requests should only come in the first half of the season, and not more than once per coach per season.

A coach that has asked to retire and was only kept by the promise of more money retires immediately once out of a job (instead of going to the market).

A quit sokker literally 8 years ago and then there was talk about coach retirement.

The best way to make coach retirement work is to start with coach skill drops after a certain age.
Then it needs 10 seasons to kick in.
I agree on the auto retirement for fired coaches beyond 70 y old.

Then, after the 10 seasons, make coaches announce retirement when they turn 75y old. Then they will declare they will retire after 1 to 3 seasons.

Skilldrops could occur from the age of 70.

Just remove coaches age, problem resolved.

Make coach recruiting easier, than nobody will bid for 100 years old relics!

You should get coaches with the exact attributes that you want!
... I didn't say it should be cheap, but if I'm paying it shouldn't be a gamble !!!!

I will definitely not take a coach who is 120 years old!!!

Please, if any action is taken around the coaches, kindly reset the age to a much lower level for old trainers.
Some of us invest too much money in them.

That is why I plead about the 10 seasons...

But as Silvercard said... resetting the ages is also a good plan! Even more easy to implement!
And if they really want to set a retiring setting, reset all coach ages back to 30, so everyone has the same chances.

Coach retirement and skill drop is a huge tool for reducing inflation. But it has to be made clever. I agree hiring coach shouldn't be so hard and such a huge gamble. I think coach thing will be updated but it will be after ~5 seasons and then it will be updated from scratch.

There is no inflation anymore, the prices went down.

And bringing the money OUT of system is NOT in users interest :-)

If only the age is the issue it just should be removed, why changing the whole system?

Hireing coaches is difficult enough and costy except for lucky ones. No need to change anything.
