Subject: Proposal for Enhanced World Cup Qualification Structure with a 9

even when these countries suddenly get users

No point hoping for miracles. Just make it fair for the existing countries with users.
Because, ''when'' they suddenly get users, they still need years before they might have youth players...

and when Cameroon gets 3 new users, then what? you will kick out Saudi Arabia because they have only 1 user?

what if Cameroon gets 3 new users and Saudi Arabia or Kenya have 0 users?

you're expecting a manual change which is NOT a good idea because they plan to bring in the users (and if they don't then there's no point in making any changes here, it's a dead game) so they need a change that will be more elastic to user number changes

they don't have money even to make important changes here, last year this game stopped changing so don't expect them to find money/time to manually delete countries from qualifiers... if you haven't realised already - they don't give a f... about the NT qualifiers

No...because they were non existent in this game for a period, so either we withdraw both 0 user countries OR we ad 4 new countries, so the qualifiers can be played with 6 teams in each group, as in fair chances for everyone!

because they plan to bring in the users

Speculation and hear say... They also said they won't be promoting the game as long as they are not finished with the planned changes...so I recon it will be a no show anyways.

if you haven't realised already - they don't give a f... about the NT qualifiers

But we do...and that's why we should be focussing on a problem that might be possible to fix easy. If we do this, we will bring fairness back into the game of NT qualifiers.
I don't get it why you are worrying about 0 user countries? There are around 200 countries in the world, so what about the other countries?
You speak about very little money in the game, but what is the revenue of an empty stadium?
Imo, there should be a ''rest of the world'' country, where all new users from all non existent countries in Sokker can gather when they enter.
They can play each other in stead of bots, so they will enjoy it more as it is now for those countries.
And then there should be a place for all countries in the world in which they can be created if there are x users willing to move to their country in stead of playing for the rest of the world.

I'm not worrying about 0-user countries, I don't care, I simply think that you are wrong in your approach

You think that if you show them an easy MANUAL fix then they will do it - I doubt that it works that way, I think they actually ignore this kind of manual changes because they WANT to create a working automatic system in all fields, so they will ignore manual changes that are relevant only to here and now situation

true exceptions are worst for devs to handle

I believe the discussion is heading in the wrong direction. Yes, borkos007 has been repeating for ages that the developers don't care about the NT and U21, but this is not entirely true :P

There have been some efforts for the NT and the U21. The following list is evidence that more countries were once active and were later deactivated on Sokker. If the same is done for Cameroon and Uzbekistan, no new managers could sign up for these countries, which I find regrettable. However, we must also ensure fair conditions. Conducting NT and U21 qualifications under unfair conditions due to two inactive countries seems disproportionate.

Country Codes with Links:
- Northern Ireland: 74
- Trinidad and Tobago: 91
- Føroyar: 94
- Liechtenstein: 95
- Al Sudan: 98
- al-Baḥrayn: 101
- Côte d'Ivoire: 102
- Lubnān: 107
- Ayiti: 108
- Zimbabwe: 109
- Sim: 110

The most straightforward solution is to simply deactivate these countries.

Im not sure they were active, I think that they were created (possibly without full data like names database etc.) but not activated I think.

For example Sim is just a simulation, not a real country.

Yes, it would be the easiest way to delete 2 countries. Yet it was easier to just ignore this problem and do nothing about it and that’s what they did;)
2023-12-09 11:44:51
But it's not easier for the qualifications.
It's not fair, it's ignorant.
2023-12-09 12:38:25
Nobody argues with that but they're doing nothing about it (and it's not a new issue) while things they were announcing to do are not made.

They obviously have (or had) a timeline of important changes, it's slowed down terribly so I wouldn't expect them to do anything about it in near future...

My ecpectations were dropped to zero since a couple of months now...

Apparently it isn’t possible to get be voted in Ozbekistan and Cameroon (you can’t register yourself to be NT- or U21-coach). Does anyone knows more about this topic?
2023-12-18 20:41:31
Probably it's cause they have no users
2023-12-19 17:31:46
Historic polls for those two countries can't be reached either.
2023-12-19 17:43:12
Btw. Couldn't there be 14 groups with 7 teams each? Assuming these 2 countries are still in play. That would be 12 matches - seems doable in 13-weeks season. Or am I missing something?

Edit: ok, I know what I am missing - it wouldn't be that easy to emerge WC finalists as it is with 16 groups
