Subject: Fans expectations

I've just known my fans expectations for this season.

And... for my surprise, they expect the club finishes in the upper half of the table.

My club never played the second division, just got promoted. So... where is the logic? Can some dev explain that to me?

My finances will be hugely impacted thourout the season, beacuse I will hardly manage to achieve that.

They will not even try to answer or at least I wouldn't expect that.

I can try, though.
1. first time in second division is probably small factor, as it should be (or to reverse that part - why should it have huge impact?)
2. last season (?) team marks probably have some impact and Your team looks pretty strong (70), there is not many teams with higher team marks
3. money in club budget have huge influence (the higher division, the less influence, but high anyway) as it should in current game state and I doubt it needs explanation why
and probably more factors but hard to say what else and what impact could it have

assuming equal finances because we cannot know them, ignoring issues like being in division for the first time as it probably doesnt have much impact (I dont even see any reason why it should) we are left with last season ranks which we can check and those look like this (ordered by team avg marks from team page descending):

lets try to take into account Your debut in the division - I dont expect it having much of an impact, so it could give You fifth place

money is impactful for sure and might change a lot in that estimations, but without detailed info (which is only accessible for devs) one can only guess how much money each club has or just assume equality in that matter like I did

the whole calculation is probably more complicated, but it is also unknown for normal users like me and You, but it seems to me that Your fans expectations aren't without foundation

Where did you get those ratings from, friendlies? I checked 2 teams and they had much higher rating during last season

which ones btw? I didnt have will to analise team by team, match by match, so such approach looked like easy way out, but credible enough

Which, again, shows average FORM of players (in 0-100 scale) instead of marks.

Normally it shows avg marks as calculated in league stats, but as previous season's marks got erased from these stats and it falls back to avg form.

ok, so my estimations above are worthIess, but I assume no one will be checking avg marks of every team there, so it is just hard to tell why those expectations are like they are because of lack of data

Expectations are based very much on how much money there is on the account, it is the most important aspect, so he probably has more money than half of his league

It can't be that heavily weigthed though. I'm pretty sure I have more money than all my league opponents combined, yet I'm only expected a podium place (last season even top half of the table).

I know, but You can only guess who have how much money. For us it is hard to determine if the expectations are calculated wrongly or properly because we just don't have enough information. So if there is no evident error, which is not visible here, you can do nothing. At least, not without a lot of work (calculate avg. marks of all league teams from official matches in last season) and goodwill (getting the info from all league managers about finances).

Devs can check this as they can check every league, but I doubt they do it. Although, those expectations seems to be pretty accurate (or at least they were when I had some more info, now I only base on my own club expectations). That might be only an impression, though. It's just hard to verify if it is or isnt one.

I just checked your league. Seems that a 5 day old team is expected to win the championship :D I know it's probably calculated from the previous owner's stats, but still pretty harsh.

Yes. I’ve mentioned it before but new teams should go through a safety phase for at least two seasons. Imagine getting your team last week of the season, missing out on „your” expectations and then getting punished from the start with lowered fan mood. I had this scenario happen in my league last season.

And starting sokker as a new manager is brutal. I knew what I was doing and it still was a struggle. And let’s be honest most new managers try random things like building stadium or buying expensive players from the start and then they have no way back to balance their finances.

the starting season safety would be enough because after that, the expectations of their team would be calculated adequately (without that problem which we have here)

but this is a problem known to devs from at least a couple of months

just the progress of development is suuuuuuper slow nowadays

Well, a lot of discussion here.
But I can pretty much affirm that my team probsbly is in the bottom of avg marks rank and also, I don't have much money to justify it.
