Subject: [idea] Improvement in the "Form" question
Lucasmiir to
All
Hello.
These days I've been thinking about how to change the question of Form and I think I've come up with an interesting idea.
Obviously Form couldn't be trained, because all teams would have players with high form, and that wouldn't be cool. But the fact that Form is a very important issue for a player's performance at a high level, being able to remain at 0 for many weeks is a very annoying issue and not at all attractive for the competitive side of the game.
That's my idea: The Form can continue to be random, but just add a "minimum" depending on some attributes of each player. An example of attributes that can "minimize" a player's form up or down would be:
- Age (mostly)
- Number of games per week
- The player is added to "Advanced Training" or not
An example of how it would work:
- 16 - 19 year old player has a minimal form of "Magical". Like this, from the "Magical" level to the "Super Divine" level could continue to be random (The variables "Number of games per week" and "being in advanced training" could increase or decrease this "minimum" a little.)
- 20 - 25 year old player has a minimal form of "Outstanding". "Outstanding" level to the "Super Divine" level could continue to be random. (With the same variations, the "minimum" may vary slightly)
- 25 - 30 year old player has a minimal form of "Very good"
- 31 - 35 year old player has a minimal form of "Average"
- 36y + player has aminimal form of "terrible"
What did you think of the idea?
I believe that it would be something easy to implement in the game and that it would continue to maintain the Form random, but less harmful to those who want to compete in the game

Don't go thinking within Sokker that things are easy to implement. The devs have Sokker as a side project in their free time, with limited time and recources.
That being said. I agree that form is sometimes too random and there should be some attributes that define the minimum and maximum of form.
I wouldn't make form age dependent however. Age and form are 2 very different things where you simply cannot make form degrade because of age, because that means that older players will always be useless!
What I would propose is the following:
Make form dependent on random but influenced by 3 points:
1) Highest position skill: The highest skill will determine the ceiling of the form
2) lowest skill: The lowest position skill will determine the bottom of the form
3) Position skill total index:
- For a defender make pace, defender and technique the 3 main skills
- For mids Technique, passing and playmaker
- For strikers: Pace, technique and striker
Say you have a defender, having 17 in pace, 16 in defence and 12 in technique. The position skill total index will then be [17 +16 +12] / 3 = 45 / 3 = 15 = magical
This will state that for this player, outstanding [12] form will be his lowest possible form, divine [17] will be his highest possible form and form will always be tempted to evolve towards the Position index skill, which in this case is 15 [magical]
If the same player would have had only 5 for technique for instance, then average [5] would be his lowest possible form and his TPSI would be 17 + 16 + 5 = 38 / 3 = 12.6 = outstanding / incredible, so his average form would be 2 to 3 skillpoints less and he could end up being average in form for a short period. Why short? Because his TPSI is more than double his lowest possible form, whih would increase the probability for his form to rise.
Then in the end, I would make form also dependent on matches played.
If the player plays at least 1 match each week, he will be more likely to maintain a decent average form
If he plays less, then his form will be more likely to drop down towards his lowest possible form
If he plays 2 or more matches each week, he will be more likely to rise in skill towards his maximum.
The age will also be having an influence, indirectly, because older players have less skill.
This formula will also always prevent world class players to drop down to tragic form and camp there for seasons on, which is by far the most ridiculous feature of the game! It's like stating Messi is having a temporary condition of MS... ridiculous!

That will make top players always have high form and weak players have low form (on average)
I can’t see how that could be a good idea sorry

agreed. All we need is the elite players to never have poor form.

Older players will not always be useless. In fact, for them the Form will also improve, less than a younger player, but it will be better than the current format.
Today, in the current format, there can be a 32-year-old player whose form doesn't go beyond Unsatisfactory level, can even stand still at a terrible level, while in my idea, a 32-year-old player would have guaranteed a minimum level of form Average.
Of course, these numbers I gave are just examples. There could be a study and better analysis to know the minimum level for each age group

You just said it... TOP players versus WEAK players! I
This is actually a method where similar players will never be wildly ranged from each other due to form.
There's imo nothing worse than having world class players in tragic form for seasons on.
The weak players are mainly playing for training anyways.

sorry but I dont buy this idea. This is just another way to make top teams stronger (clubs and NT).
I just would prefer players to be adjusted more to a medium form (lets say around formidable).
Lucasmiir idea shouldnt be the way but it fits what it needs to be. Then U21 NT would be better as everybody would have good form and prime (around 28 yo) could be used.
Form and injury lenght are things that we can not control (that what we suppose), then devs just should mitigate this. I dont think they need to make extra code

the world is beautiful because it is varied, we all have our ideas and our experience for football management games. I believe that the form should not be controlled 100% by us. For example, in reality one player is in top form at the beginning of the season, another in the middle of the season etc. Then there are those who are in top form and start to decline for various reasons because even in reality a player is rarely fit for all the matches. Always during the season there are injuries, there are too many games, negative results. The only thing that isn't good is that 0-0 form for at least two seasons. I would never link shape to age.
agree, thats why I am talking about mitigate, not remove "random" factor

yes and that's what is wrong with it
that would mean players in best teams always being in form and players of new/weaker teams alway being out of form
it would also mean u21 players being in low form
that would be terrible for quality of play in low to medium level games
it would also make the gap between smaller and bigger teams/NTs worse

Goals, assists and def/off involment should be the first things to consider to influence the form
No because then everyone will use the friendly fakes to increase the shape.
Form should work like now, it just shouldn’t be glued to min/max for many seasons like now
Wouldnt it be better if for every game the form is random. So at the start of each game you see how good their form is for that match, completely random.
Honestly, that is an interesting concept to me. Somehow. Maybe not at the start of each game - that would be brutal and rage on forums would be endless.
But once/twice a week. So you would need to keep a wider roster of players (like game owners want) to have some options.

That would be pretty unfair for most important games if one team suddenly had a huge increase in forms and the other a huge decrease.
It would only be about luck, honestly hate that concept
