Subject: [U21] Myname

2009-08-17 22:01:12
myname [del] to All
Since Kasparius isn't going for U21 (Vandamme84 told me a couple of weeks ago), I've decided I want to give it a try.

I don't have any fancy logo's and my own team isn't that good, but I'm rather good at making tactics (look at my last match for example, I was better although my team had 6 ratingpoints less) and I'm Belgian, just like Vandamme84, so we should be able to communicate well.

I've been a scout for Nippon for 2 seasons and last season I was the Def-scout of Belgium, so I'm quiet experienced with the running of a NT, too. I've not yet been a NT-coach (or U21 coach), but there has to be a first time once and I'm hoping you'll give me the opportunity.

This is not my official speech yet, but I will give you a beautiful speech (which will give you tears) tomorrow.

So please vote for me :-)

Speech:

Hæ,

My Sokkername is Myname and IRL I'm a 19-year old student who studies mathematics.

I'm playing since Octobre 2006, first 2 seasons rather inactive, but since then I'm rather active on fora, mostly on the Belgian Fora.

Why do I want to be your U21-coach?
First of all, I really like Sokker and I'm looking for a new challenge in the game. Island seems to be an ideal country to start as an U21-coach, you have good players, a small community and your NT-coach will probably be Belgian too, which will make communication between NT and U21 much easier.

What are my good qualities? Or, why do I want you to vote for me?
My best quality is that I'm good at making tactics, I can dominate matches although my players are much worse. Tactics is an important part of the game and it is a huge factor for winning matches with national teams. The second reason why I can do this, is that my English is Ok, I should be able to communicate with the whole community (I guess that you people of Island can speak English ;-)).
Another advantage is, as I mentioned before, that I speak the same language as vandamme84, this will be a giant advantage for communication about the both National teams. The last big advantage I have, is that I've been a scout for 3 seasons, 2 seasons in Nippon and 1 season as a Def-scout for the Belgian NT. This experience should help me to know the good and weak skills of the Islandian players.

What are my objectives?
First of all, I want to have a good youth system with 1 or 2 scouts (if 2 scouts: an U19 and an U21 and certainly one from Island itself) that regularly update the young and promising Islandian players. Second, I'm planning to participate to the Mini WC U21 (topic is opened on Sokker International) and I'm hoping to get Island into the semi-finals (and who knows, maybe win the tournament :-) ). For the further friendly's I don't yet have an idea, but I will play a few times an U20 for sure and maybe an U19 once, against a weaker opponent. Sometimes there will be a little preview before the match too, to make 'Sokker Island' a little more animated and maybe attract some new users.

So, this was my speech, I hope I did well and I certainly hope you'll vote for me!

You've got a good man there. I think he knows most of the managers, he is an active Sokker manager himself and I think Jonas_0609 will be a great scout. I am however not casting my vote just yet I want to see speeches from most of the other candidates first.

I've seen the votes and I don't know who got 2 votes and who got 1 vote and this may sound a little harsch and a little mean, but I don't think Jagr will be a good U21-coach with what he has proven untill now...

I'll explain:
I haven't seen a proper speech from him yet, so I don't know what he wants to achieve, how he's going to manage the U21 team. Furthermore, I haven't seen him play with anything other then a standard tactic (442), which may do ok in the lower classes of Island, but will definitely fail on an international level.

I can understand if you guys would choose for someone of your own country. There are enough good managers in your country to lead the U21, but I think that Jagr isn't the right man to go for the U21 (yet?). So I hope you don't vote for someone, just because he lives closer to your house...

Off course, if Jagr posts a decent speech and shows that he can make a decent tactic, I will recall all of this arguments, but untill then, I think I'm making a good point.

I don't say you need to vote for me, but I would like you guys to vote for a decent manager. If you think someone else is more qualified than me...no hard feelings ;-)

I am waiting for a speech from Jagr and one other manager before I make my decision I will not vote for someone who does not make a good speech.

Agree with jonhelgi. Plus, if someone is playing in Iceland and not sure he is icelander I want to know the story behind. It can be he lives here etc but I just want to know it.
