Magnús Hjaltson is sold to a Belgium manager who will train him on keeper and pace the next seasons.

easy job, are there more then 5 U21 GK? :p

no but maybe he"ll find 5 :p
it's more likely that if there'll be another talented GK he might wan't train him too

Friendly: Ísland (ranked 60th) - Norway (ranked 23th): 0-1

My testcase as U21 coach went pretty good, to bad the result isn't. Thanks to Sigur for giving me the opportunity to make the line-up and to decide the tactic.

Scouting Norway i saw immediatly we had chances if we played with a wing, because they had much power in the centre of the field. Because of that i also chose to play with 2 defmid and 1 centre mid just ahead of them.

Can't blame my tactic. In the first half we had more possession and pushed norway back. Score half way was already 0-1 in favour or Norway. They scored real easy while Kolbeinn Baldursson and Henrik Eysteinnsson missed open chances :s

No harm was done since there was still a 2nd half... but then we even came in a more unfortunate position: Þorfinnur Hafliðason (centre MID) took the red card and Runólfur Pálmason (def mid) was injuried.

Because of that we were not able anymore to put pressure on Norway and break their defense.

With this team I'm pretty sure Ísland has much chance of surviving the poules in the U21 mini WC. Hopefully I'm the one to lead you there :)

Island will have serious trouble in the U20 matches since we don't have any decent strikers. Thats also bad news for next season WC U21 qualifier :s

If anyone knows any decent strikers who are aged 20 or lower please contact me.

This is indeed a big problem. You have to wait until here is a nice youthplayer i think.

there isn't 1 more decent striker in island who is 20 years old or younger
maybe 1 18 yo who's is decent but that's kind of it...

Good game, unfortunately our defensive line was appauling.

Cymru vs Ísland 3-3
Cymru ranked 55, Ísland ranked 60

Dominating the match untill Birgisson takes the red card in the 8th minute... From then on the match was equal, still we could make 0-2 but from then on Cymru went over us making 3-2. Luckily Baldursson made the deserved equaliser in the 85th minute!

Ending the match with only 9 people and Cyrmu with 11, we can state that we were the better team. To bad the sokker gods were not at our side. Nevertheless a good result versus a country with an active community and 23 managers :)

ps: next match vs Latvia we'll have defensive problems, 3 players are banned with red...

You have me to thank there, played the defensive line too spaciously and high, but Curtis went and saved Cymru, he has ridiculously high tech and got two of your players sent off, but our striker couldn't control a thing today sadly.

At the end, both sides'll be disappionted they didn't win, but you deserved to, I expected a winger from you, played a wide defence and got punished :(
