yeh going good, result of perfect work that Sigur has done previous seasons. Best U21 players Island had in years i guess.
very bad luck vs India... two red cards and they score the winning goal in minute 88....

To bad this seasons Islandic players are not as good as last year. 3th spot should be the goal, but will be very hard!

First of all we meet Scotland, who are in my eyes, slightly the favorites. But if we want to go for the 3rd spot we need at least a draw against them. Last season we did that, allthough they were dominating the whole game! But then again we had a very good defence, and despite our world class GK, thats what we'r lacking this season :s
Anyway, lets kick some ass! :)

WC qualifier vs Scotland 0-1
Bad start in the WC qualifiers. I knew it would be very hard to get even a draw vs Scotland but loosing like this hurts: the only goal was scored in minute 88. Whole game we kept it really good closed but then a fast attack of Scotland on the right side was untouchable for our slow defenders.
Elmar Sigmundsson his assists and ability to keep the ball in the team were missed today. Hopefully he heals fast from his injury so we can use him in top matches.
Anyway, next week we meet Tunis, where we have to get the 3 points.

We are 13 places lower on the 59th place.
Expectations: This match is expected by supporters to be a tough and even game, with slight advantage to your team.

Nice result against a stronger team. We scored the equalizer in the 90' minute.
Quit happy with the result, did't expect to got this result.
Ukraina is higher ranked.
Ísland U21 - Pilipinas U21 1:3
Pilipinas had the better team but a dissapointing result for me.
Expected to do better after the good result against Ukraina.
Pilipinas was lower ranked.
Ísland U21 - Moldova U21 3:1
Nice result againt the stronger Moldova.
We needed a bit of luck and a good Vífill Ingþórsson to reach this result.
Moldova was higher ranked.
Ísland U21 - Kypros U21 1:1
Very nice result. With a rating difference of about 8 point, Kypros was clearly the better team.
Kypros was higher ranked.
Lietuva U21 - Ísland U21 2:0
For the first time it was clear there is a very weak generation.
Lietuva is higher ranked but played with the U20.
Expected but also slightly dissapointed result.

Missed about 3 A players against a stronger team.
Bad result, nothing more to say.

Playing against nr 10 of the world with there U19/20 selection.
scored 2 lucky goal out of 2 chances.
Good result.

about lietuva, if I'd use only 21 year olds Lietuva would be weaker than playing with only 20 year olds...
