That's true. Many our shots hit the posts also - didn't calculate how many times, but many....

i also must say that against weaker teams, this tactic with 3 attackers is a good way to keep the ball on their side of the pitch... so they wont have that many chances on building the game from midfield

NT Friendly: Ísland - Malaysia

It's half way of the season and coming games I will try to use best team I can get. We need better ranking (if possible). Better ranking is needed to get better group and (weaker) opponents for coming qualifications.

Malaysia is good team... I scouted few games and they usually have marks near 70. They usually use winger, 5 men defence line and 1 or 2 strikers.

Let's see how this one goes!

Couple changes because Traustason has slight injury.

Numason takes Traustason's place and Bjarkason is a new bench warmer.

Result: Ísland - Malaysia 3-2 (2-2)

Four man in defence line, diamond in the middle, winger and striker - quite nice combinations and good win for us.

Malaysia played now with completely different tactic than in their last games. Our wing backs played close to the touchline (against winger like I thought...). So Malaysia's strikers took advantage from that free space. But that wasn't enough for them this time.

Both team had many scoring opportunities.

Slovensko is definetely a favorite.

thats true we have skilled players but no enough... when players are injured or out of form we dont have enough skilled players as substitue... and we need better mids

Friendly: Slovensko - Ísland

Tough opponent - Slovakia's ranking is 22. They played 2-2 draw against Mexico (ranking 7.) last week.

We have difficult situation with our goalies, because 3/4 of our best keepers are injured (Tumi slight injury => he is sub-goalie). We have to trust our oldest man - Sigursteinsson! He played allready in our last weeks match against Malaysia. He was good.

Otherwise our lineup looks good. Couple player has low form.

btw i remember one match when Island beat Slovakia it was WC match.... result was 3:1 and there were nice tactic used ;)

Goalies changes places - because Tumi is healthy.

Result: Slovensko - Ísland 7-0

Slovensko didn't give us much chances.... frustrating result, easy goals, poor goaltending - and of cource when you loose like this you can't be happy how your tactic worked.

No stars!!! Poor performance... :\

Friendly: Ísland - Portugal

Portugal's ranking is 32 and their marks are ~ 75. Very dangerous team.

Bjartmansson takes back his place between posts. Great playmaker Númason replaces Sturlaugsson. Lineup is quite similar than last week. We try to play better game now...
